My Tundra is finally back and detailed.

Ok, some of yall remember back in March I got rear-ended by an Explorer at 50+ mph at an intersection. Here are some "before" pics.

Well, after about 2months of waiting for the truck to get right, and a month of putting off this detail, I finally gave it the proper wash/polish it needed. I ended up being decently happy with the way the truck came out, and ended up getting a whole new paint job b/c I kept finding where the painter blended the paint.

More to come.........................

Glad you finally got your truck back. Why the EC x3? In my experience toyota paint can be hard but not anywhere near that hard. Looks good.

The guy buffing/finishing left horrible buff marks with the wool pad he was using, and they were being a PITA to remove. I told him to put some extra clear on the truck, so no biggie.

TrueZoom-Yes I did, the spare is also dressed.:D

Brandon, WOW that thing is clean!!

What did you dress the wells with??

You got a Borla exhaust? You are the MAN!

Jim

Brandon, the truck looks increadible to say the least! You must have spents days cleaning it up like that...to even dress the inside of the tires!!!! Can you tell me your process to clean the engine? I have a 4-Runner with the 4.7 as well and I have no idea what to use to clean the aluminum intake without yellowing it or making it looks worse. Anything you tell me would be great...thanks.

I just have kept that engine clean since new. I find that if I want to shine the intake up, I use some EO wadding polish and that works great, as far as cleaning, I use Purple Power 5:1.

Thanks for info. I will look into those products and give them a shot. I do have to say that the Tundra looks great considering it got hit by an ExploDer doing 50mph.

Everything except the roof. He had a problem with the paint computer and I found where he blended coats, so he just found the problem with the computer and re-painted the whole truck so I would not see any blend marks any more.

Damn, that is one hell of a deal. Too bad you were out of a vehicle for two months though!

Did you have to do some serious arm-twisting to get them to repaint the truck? And was this a place that your insurance place chose, or was this a bodyshop of choice?

Great work! I know what a hassle and PITA it can be after repaints. It seems that the majority of body shops don't have a clue what they are doing. That frame and engine are immaculate. You get the prize in my book for the most flawless undercarriage and engine compartment.

Did you put dressing on the INSIDE WALL of the tire?!

Nevermind the dressing on the insides of the tires... its the whole undercarriage that really stands out. I am the same exact way. To me, the undercarriage and wheelwells are almost just as important as the body. Dressing the backsides of the tires is just the last finishing touch.

I guess its safe to assume that that thing has never been offroading before?
