my truck

i cleaned up my truck today .. applied p&s ultracoat polish over spray & wipe qd spray applied withy pc at speed 4 with edge blue pad ..victory red doesnt get much better than this. the wheels are centerlines polished with cda polish / drill with cotton polishing wheel

I also use P&S products and in my opinion they are the best out there. Looks great however the ultracoat polish is not designed to be a final finish and neither is the spray wax. I woudl follow up with a couple of coats of P&S ultracoat sealant ( its not cheap but wow..) and the shine pops out even more. I kid you not, with two coats of sealant, your truck will be protected for a good solid year, even after hand washign it everyday.. its that durable!

I am looking to get a truck just like this to pull my rig......my Ranger has had it! Anyway, what suspension are you running and if you do not mind me asking what does a truck like that go for?

Thanks

BTW it looks wwwwwwwaaaaaaaaay sick

ill try to answer everybody here . first i dont like the way the truck looks with ultracoat wax/sealer it makes it look orange but it looks killer with the polish and it looks a little darker with the creme carnauba wax . im not worried about durability because its garaged . the drop kit is a djm 6/4 kit with control arms on the front and the rearend is flipped and c/notched for a better ride it also has nitro drop shocks . it has a 4.11 posi. hyperteck programmer / afe cold air intake and k/n exaust . the motor is a5.3 and this thing hauls serious ass . sideways in 3rd gear is not a problem . many old school hotrods around my town have been taken to school by the red rocket .. also i think p&s stuff is awesome i have just about all there stuff and im always trying combos to achieve certain looks and this combo on red is the best ive done yet .and finally the aftermarket stuff on the truck is about 4 grand ..

Yeah I drove a 2wd chevy with a 5.3 and 3.37's with the towing package. It was a standard cab short box just like yours. It seriously felt faster then some of my older mustangs.

Hey Ron and DKKNE
Try applying Velocity Glaze before Ultracoat, you'll be amazed at the results...

Truck looks great, IMHO it's the best looking color GM has

Now see I tried velocity Glaze and didn;t see a difference. I tried the P&S Smart compound also and really really didn't like that.

ive tried velocity glaze 2 times and i just dont see whats so great about it ? maybe it looks good on a vehicle that hasnt been worked over as much as mine but i cant see it . my distributor raves about it though . smart compound is excellent on black paint with a pc then followed by ultracoat sealer wax .. looks mean .. heres that combo on my old sonoma .i clayed it first

I know this is all a matter of option but I don't care for any of the P&S waxes or polishes, I think they tend to be dust collectors, or high in polymers...especially the smart system they have....that was developed for large shops as a no brainier polishing and waxing system...for the inexperienced....I do use ALLOT of there stuff its hard not to as they have a great store here locally.

BR

your truck looks great no surprise there

Yes I agree that the smart system stinks. There ultracoat line is what I use the most, in combination with Mequires products.

Whats wrong with polymers in your opinion?

i like polymers on light colored vehicles . i prefer some of the combos i listed above . if a dark vehicle has flaws i think polymers really expose them .. also polymers make victory red look orange ..

They do, and it kinda sucks...

I did a quick 2-step on our HD about 2 weeks ago, topped it with VG and Megs #20, I was pretty happy with the results. Just the other day I stripped it and applied Ultracoat and it has more of an orange tint to it now but still looks great. It's very slick IMO.
For a while, Golden Gate North (name of the distributor) had some samples of Autopride Longevity sealant, it's by far my favorite sealant, but I was told that they put it on hold for a while, which really sucks. The only LSP I use from P&S now is Ultracoat, but I'm thinking about picking up some Par-K wax or Fas Wax.

EDIT: Not trying to hi-jack the thread, but I thought this was semi-relevant :)
Here's a pic I snapped of the HD when I was on my way out the door the other morning. This is with one coat of Ultracoat on there, I must say I was impressed!
