Here is my new detailing shopping list for this spring, for my Chili Red MINI Cooper S:

Autogeek.net

Bodywork Shampoo

Micro Rejuvenator Microfiber Detergent Concentrate

12 Foam Wax Pads

Crystal Mist

Orange Lake County Pad

2 White Lake County Pads

SSR 2.5, and SSR 1

All the help is appreciated...

Thanks!

Looking good so far. You should get 4-6 weeks out of Souveran I hope. As to QDs, Pinnacle recommends their Crystal Mist, but I would use anyone. CGs VRT is a nice dressing, but a little greasy. I have some Satin Prop from Jeff's Werkstatt which I have not used, and also some of the FK1 stuff, (cannot remember the number off hand). Almost forget some Protection Plus from Optimum.

It's pretty expensive, but I heard it's very nice. Like I said, you could use just about any other out there, your preference. It boils down to what you want to do after applying it.

Get an oragne LC pad for the SSR2.5, a white pad for the SSR1, and if you want another white pad for the SSR2.5, too.

Bumper Dressing?:

MINI Coopers have black plastic porous sideskirts/bumpers. I really don't like the super shiny/greasy look, I have yet to find a bumper dressing/protectant that doesn't do this... Is there one out there for me??

Well, Poorboy's Natural Look does really look great, but it doesn't last. Low gloss and long lasting are a tough combo to find, Trim Restore will last a couple weeks but it is on the shiny side. Meguiar's Gold Class Endurance Tire Shine Gel might work for you, actually. That, or Meg's Detailer Line Hyper Dressing cut down 4:1 with water.

"The Blue Perl is a 75% polyester, 25% polyamide microfiber blend with split, hooked fibers that pull fine particles away from your paint"

going forward I've decide to steer clear of split hooked fibers for the paint. Its overkill for a well maintained surface like an enthusiasts car. Maybe for the wheels to get the brake dust off but for

my paint I only use the Sonus Der Wunder polishing towels wit no hooked fibers. Too bad they put those stupid stickers on the towels makes no sense.

LOL no problem...since I'm assuming you're ordering the Souveran, Crystal Mist, and Bodywork Shampoo from either Autogeek.net or Pinnaclewax.com, get them there. I'm not sure what kind of backing plate you have or what size pads you want, but they sell 6.5" and 7.5" pads at both places, as well as 5" and 6" backing plates. If you're planning to order anything from Danase.com, they have the best prices on all the pads (especially after our forum 15% discount, which ends today).
