[quote name='Dave KG']Silver paint... great for hiding all manner of defect, but never really makes the jaw drop in the same way some other colours can... Well I've been trying for a while on my silver car, various product combos etc to try and get a jaw-dropping look from silver. I know it will never produce the dazzling reflections of a black car, but I reckon if its glossy and liquid looking enough it'll catch a few backward glances, so with this in mind, here's my latest attempts...
Previously the car was glazed with Pinnacle XMT Carnauba Finishin Glaze and topped with two layers of Pinnacle SignatureII spit-shined using Meguiars Last Touch, this was two weeks ago... Today I tried a little experiment. Liking the lovely glossy finish CG Instawax left and the finish of XXX wax I went for a kind of spit-shining method using the pair of them... First off a layer of XXX wax was applied using the PC and a Meguiars W9006 finishing pad. The residue was not buffed off, instead Instawax was sprayed on top, and then a second layer of XXX applied and then the residue was buffed off. The results as I went round the car I was really enjoying, a very glossy and liquid look to the paint which I did my best to capture:
