My quest for a cheap foam cannon...

I figured I would start a new post from the discussion I was adding in the "Hot Tub" forum. In my quest for a cheap alternative to foam cannons I was going to order this unit:

I decided to try this $15 kit from Home Depot and see if it would do the job. I'll try to post up pictures of it in action tonight.

Let me say I just saw your post and was bored so I ran up to home depot and picked one of these up. With the included adapters I was up and washing within minutes of getting home. Yes not having a bottle is a pain but the 15' pickup nozzle didn't interfere much with the washing. I was unsure of the dilution ratio with the soap but I had half a gallon of turtle wax ice and tried using the soap by itself. I saw the clear hose collapse and knew it was to thick to get sucked the whole way to the nozzle. I filled the bottle the rest of the way with water and shook a few times to mix the soap and let me tell you I was amazed at the amount of foam that was left behind. I've not used a gilmour before so I can't compare it to that but this sure beats using a wash bucket and mitt. I took a few photos with my cam phone but I don't want to take over your thread so I'll wait for you to post your pics. All in all I'd def say it was worth the $15.

Caution: Foam Cannon is not a substitute for 2 bucket method, simply a way to remove some of the dirt/debri from your car to even further minimize swirls....

Post pics, dont think the op will mind....

Dude please post pics! This kit isn't going to work with my gas powered PW. The adapters only seem to work for electric style PW'ers. Now I'm pissed! I wish this thing would work with mine. I would love to see your pics though!

I saw another product there that was $20 dollars and was similar to this product but I want to say dewalt made it. Not sure but it might be one for gas pressure washers.

i bought a gilmore from danase a couple of weeks ago:grinno: . been going crazy with it ever since:woot: . for $60 this gun works great for me:secret . you can experiment with the amount/type of soap to get it just the way that you want. no fuss, just attach to hose and foam. i love it. (foamed my neighbors cat on thursday just for giggles, she loved it!):bolt
