My Poorboy's Extravaganza Review Using EX-P+

The Whaler Loves Detail City
I detailed my wife's car today. It's a silver metallic which is called Lunar Mist. I used Poorboy's products exclusively. I went with SuperSuds+ProPolish+EX and EX-P+. the EX-P and EX-P+ were used in a side by for comparison.
Well here's the review on each product. I used 1/2 ounce of measured Supersuds. I believe I found the ever elusive proper amount to add to my bucket. This amount was plenty for the job it had to take on. I poured the 1/2 in a five gallon bucket, shot the bucket with a jet stream of water and suds appeared immediately. I hosed down the car and went to work with the SuperSuds. Using the two bucket method and a wool mitt the dirt came off easily enough. The suds lasted the entire time it took to wash the vehicle. When I was finished rinsing the soap off the car I gave it the final flooding of water. The water sheeted off very quickly. By the time I was finished rolling up the hose my car was almost completely dry . As always I dried the car with a gray waffleweave. No waterspots were noticed and the finish had a slickness to it.
Next came ProPolish. I've only used this product once before today so I'm not really familiar with how to use it (but I'm learning). First of all a little goes a long way. To begin with I was putting too much on my applicator but as time went on I got comfortable with it. I would apply it to the paint in a back and fort motion until the product seemed to disappear. I did a section at a time using a white micro to buff off the haze. It left a very clear and clean shine to the car. I was pleasantly surprised at the look because I swear by Polish with Carnuba. Let me tell you in mho The Propolish looks better on my silver metallic than the Polish with Carnuba. This look is cleaner and shinier(bling). The PwC look gives off a warmer but somewhat deeper look. The PP came off easy enough. Very little drag on my towel. Very good product.
Now for the side by with EX-P and EX-P+. I dampened my foam applicator with water wrung it out and proceeded to apply EX-P+ to the entire car except for 1/2 the trunk. That was spared so I could put EX-P on it. The prototype Ex-P+ was a little difficult in getting it out of the bottle but the results were worth the effort. It is thick but that made it easy to apply the right amount to the applicator. It went on smoothly as did the EX-P. Both were a snap to put on the car. Again I used dampened foam applicators and a back in forth motion for both products. After the entire car was sealed I went in and watched basketball for an hour. When the hour was up I went outside and wiped the car off with a plush blue micro. Both sealants came off with very little pressure being applied to the towel. I do everything by hand so you know some places are going to have thicker spots than others. No problem the towel just picked up the haze and went right on to produce a brilliant shine. I found the differences in EX-P and EX-P+ to be EX-P+ does produce more of a shine and it's noticeably slicker(at least to me). My slick test was strictly unscientific. More like hilarious. I drug a towel across the surface and I could feel a drag(or thought I could). Then I had the kid (who had no idea what he was going to do)across the street come over and told him to put a towel down on the trunk and glide it back and forth. He looked at me as if I lost it. Then I had him lean on the car with one hand using the same towel. He did that to both sides and I asked him if he could tell a difference in either side. He said the EX-P+ side was the slicker of the two. Told you it was unscientific. So in closing I'll say both EX-P And EX-P+ looks beautiful on a silver metallic car. If slickness and a shinier appearance is what you want then the EX-P+ has it. Btw I did go back outside and put a second coat on. I'm also doing a side by with back to back coats versus a single coat. I did this on the hood. I want to see if there is a difference apearance. Tomorrow comes the Natty topper versus the Spray and Gloss. Also I'll be using Poorboy's Prods. on the wheels and tires.

Rabbi,

Another great extensive review :bigups

Loved the "slick" test!! I'll be interested to hear if the EX-P+ holds up as well as EX-P.

Great review Rabbi. EX-P and EX-P+ both make silver pop to my eyes.

The only thing missing is some PICS!!!

To my eyes there was no noticeable difference in one coat of EX-P+ and two coats.I have to admit the car looks NICE!
