My new toy vs. Polaris Predator 500!

Fast Forward to this weekend. I wanted to look at used 4-wheelers, but they were all definatly not up to autopian standards. So I went and looked at new ones. I checked out Yamaha, Honda, Kawasaki, Can-Am, Suzuki. They were all pretty cool looking, but for the price, I should have been able to drive them to school! ($7000+). I then checked out Polaris and found out they make a machine called a predator. I ended up talking with the guy at the dealership about it and decided that is the machine that I wanted due to certian things and extra features. I wanted to just write a check for the thing and be done with it, but I decided to finance to build up my non-existant credit over the next couple of years.

So here it is, 2007 Polaris Predator 500. 500cc DOHC motor (50+hp at the wheels), Douglas Aluminum Wheels, Maxxis tires, Fox shocks, tons of go-fast goodies that I would have had to put on the others, this one came with it. I rode it for like 5min yesterday and let me tell you, this thing is scary fast!!!! Supposed to run 80+mph (not me!) and outrun almost any 4-wheeler made stock.

Ok, enough talk, here are some pics after detailing it in the rain on Sat. I got it at my beach house and had to wait 2days to get it home to ride.

Process was:

Wash with MS Super Foam

Dry with leaf blower and guzzler

Polish with Plastix

Glaze with RMG

Seal with #105 on everything (I mean everything, frame, wheels, etc)

Wax with DP's MaxWax 2x

Polish wheels and other aluminum with Shining Monkey Chrome Polish

Tires with AA Foam

So there is my source of happiness for the next long time. My buddy is getting one just like it Tuesday so we can go to all the NC ATV parks and ride. Keeps our mind out of trouble, and off women.

Nothing like spending money to take your mind off of things! When my ex fiance and I split about 10 years ago my truck got lowered, custom body work and a new paint job. Kept me busy and my mind off of things. LOL

Very nice. I look at those everytime I'm at the dealer. Just a warning though, I doubt that will be extremely successful at keeping your mind off women for very long lol.

I think these guys are right... it looks so pissed off that for me at least women are the first thing that come to mind :P

Nice purchase, now go get it muddy!

Just came back from a riding session, this thing is a monster. It is scary fast but it handles so well. I almost flipped it trying to do a doughnut but got some grit lodged between the wheel/tire on the rightrear. :(

Sweet machine! I haven't ridden for quite a few years and amazed at the speed of the machines now. Back in the day I used to ride my 1987 Honda 250X and my buddies 250R. I think I would probably just hurt myself if I got one one like yours.

Congrat my man!!!.. Now you can get your mind of that chick :p And start having fun with this chick :2thumbs:

Ok, definatly got it muddy today. It's hard being an autopian and having a 4wheeler. Oh, well, the mud definatly beaded up and ran off.

Awesome, I'm in to quads as well. I have a 2007 Yamaha Raptor with a Trinity Racing 734cc big bore, high comp CP piston, ported head and stage 1 cams with full HMF exhaust, ProFlow intake with K&N and Dobeck TFI fuel controller. These things are MONEY PITS. The Predators are awesome machines and they have great stock shocks and wheels/tires. A friend of mine just picked up a new Predator Outlaw 525 with the straight axle. The KTM motor really screams. It's only 510cc but ran neck and neck with my stock 686cc Raptor.

Slap some paddle tires on there and go tear up the dunes. It's the most fun I've ever had on a four wheeler.

Mine's got blue plastics and they are scuffed all to hell. How did the Plastx work for you and did you use it by hand?
