Nice car! What type of detailing have you done to it?

Just FYI, if you ever plan to sell it, smoking in it will hurt the resale. ;)

For now im likely to use an experienced detailer - but I do want to specify what I want - and I do plan to learn -

boo-hoo-hoo... yer bringin back memories...

I sold my '98 Lincoln Mark VIII LSC almost a year ago. Was an ultra-rare spring feature edition (1 of 117) in medium gold metallic. Sold it with 29,000 miles on it. Still miss it. Is an amazing car for a road trip- nothing better... quick, comfortable, and quiet. Great mileage too... averaged 26 mpg cross-country with the cruise set on 80. I had thought about modding it with a lot of the Lincoln Motorsport stuff, but in the end, it just didn't make sense to keep it... was spending too much time in the garage- was too paranoid to drive it around here... afraid it might get dirty or dinged or dented or whatever. Was just too big of a car to negotiate the tight confines of the L.A. area. Would've kept it forever, had I stayed in Florida. Definitely not a cheap car to maintain, though. All those electronic gizmos & gadgets are not cheap to repair. Best of luck, & enjoy!

I was thinking about taking it to a body shop and having the various minor paint chips fixed, and maybe having it wet sanded. The finish overall is decent, but there are swirls in the hood and other minor blemishes.

Not sure- Bacisally I want to ahve the finish rejunivated. Whats the best way to do this?

Some detailers do airbrush touch-ups with color matched paint as well . Just call around and ask if they have refs/photos of their work .

You can wetsand and buff touch ups in an hour or two so by the time he would be done detailing , he could finish those touch ups up fully .
