It is black with black interior.

Lots of toys added to this C2S!

With the Ceramic Brakes in yellow, the seat belts in yellow will look nice!

Dealer wants many pictures when it comes in as they do not get a Spec car like this often. The only thing mising was the Power Kit. But at $16K just to go up from 355hp to 381hp was just out of the question. Way too much for little improvement!

I see my old Lexus SC430 is on Autobytel! Dealer wasted no time!

Man I just can't wait for spring to arrive and this new Porsche!

This is going to be one sick car!

Of course picture will be posted once it gets to the dealer.

I like the options and the car. I'm not sure about the ceramic brakes - my Porschephile buddies tell me it is very expensive to replace them.

I'm guessing stick for three reasons:

1. Any self-respecting Porsche driver will prefer to choose their own gears.

2. He got a short shift kit which, I believe, is a short shifter of sorts.

3. Automatic Porsches are kind of wrong.

So is this one of the higher end Porsches what did it set you back? I'm more in to American Muscle, but I'd love to take a Porsche for a run sometime.

for some american muscle is enough to satisfy, but some want to be able to go fast on turns and feel their stomach move around.

if i was able to purchase this car, imo i wouldn't be sweating the cost the ceramic pads.

Of course stick, that's why I got the sport shifter. Cannot understand who would put a Tip-O-Matic in a Porsche unless you have physical problems!

Listening to another 06 Carrera S with Sport Exhaust was wild, better yet, hit the Sport button on the Sport Chrono pack and it remapps the engine and uncorks the exhaust at higher rpm. WOW! :yay It also remapps the active suspension to stiff and also disables the PSM (Please Same Me) anti-skid control so you can now play with a little oversteer, just as long as you stay off the brakes or the PSM kicks in.

The PCCB's are expensive, but at 40lbs reduction in weight per wheel, that's fine by me. Besides, I really wanted the best and so... I ordered it with them. Since they are yellow, the interior seatbelts are yellow against a full black leather interior.

Aero kit has me worried that it may have difficulties clearing the speed bumps at our condo, so the dealer is trailering the car here so we can check clearance per bump.

The next Poorboys meeting should be interesting! :bigups Marge will die when she see's this thing!

Bose system sounds pretty good, have yet to play with it fully, but I know how the Mark Levensen sounded in the SC430 and it's close with a bit of an edge as Bose has audio processing if you so choose.

Once in at the dealer, the detailer who does their work is just as anal as I am and very talented. A quick pass with Menzerna P085RD followed by Armorglove film, then a LSP. Maybe Zaino or FMJ who knows?

Trying to get the car with Mich PS/2's instead of what they sometimes come with.

Damn, April/Maycannot come soon enough! I'm dying just waiting!

After reading WInding Road Volume 6, it rates the Carrera S 2nd to a Ferrari F430! Not bad company!

I was looking at the Z06, but I really wanted a car that everyone tries to beat in the handling department, is unique in options and doesn't have that cheap Detroit interior. I used to have an L-88 Vette and the Z06 is as close to that as possible. With a Z06, be prepaired to change tires often as they will literally rip the treads off it's got that much torque! :bigups

So what shall it be? Zaino Z2 Pro? FMJ? Klasse? EX-P ? and/or Souveran on top? Porsche black is soooo nice. I'll kick myself for getting black, but what the hell.

I'll keep you informed as time get closer. Dealer also taking pics for Porsche publication. Also trying to get Porsche Germany to take some as it's being built, that would be sweet.

If I had to pick my fav. combo on black, I would choose:

P085RD (or FPII if you can't find it). I like to go x 2 on black.

Wolfgang Sealer -It's as easy to use as FMJ. Who cares if it's not the most durable sealer on the market. It has a warm carnuba look and it looks especially good on black paint. The other sealer combo that I like is to layer UPP and EX (delete the carnuba step). This also gives an excellent look on black paint.

Finish Kare Pink Wax - If you're planning to use a carnuba topper I would HIGHLY recommend buying a can of Finish Kare Pink Wax. Trust me, you will like it. If you don't I'll buy it from you. While you're at it, pick up some #425 QD spray (it's EXCELLENT on paint and glass).

Here's a few shots of my wife's Tahoe topped with Finish Kare.

Never heard of this "Pink Wax" product.

Sure, I've used WG sealant. Not too bad.

Souveran sure does look nice on blacks.

Look up Finish Kare on the net (or send me a PM). Pink Wax and #425 detail spray will make you and the new ride happy.

Bump on the Finish Kare Pink Wax and #425 detail spray...as well as other FK stuff....really good products but nowhere near as hot as having a 997 '06 Porsche Carrera S :yourrock

Nice Pics! Nice close-up of the PCCB's!!

The black one will look similar, but also have the Aero Kit to make it more sport looking.

I'll look up the Pink Wax as well and thanks!

I see.... How good is this product(s)? Looks like all kinds of sealants and "high temp" wax etc. Interesting.

How'd someone stumble on this stuff?

I'll have to see how well it stands up to current products such as Zaino, EX-P, Kasse etc on the sealant side and Souveran or Natty Blue on the wax side.

I wish April/May would get here sooner! I'm dying to get this car! It's goning to be one sweet ride! :D

I'll have to go to the dealer one nice day and take another out for a fix until this car is here!

First CD to be played in the new car: Sammy Hagar: "I can't drive...55!" is so fitting!!!

Thanks and I'll look into the wax/sealants!

i thought the the porsche had two options for brakes
the regular stock ceramic with regular sport rotors
and the upgrade was the carbon pads and rotors, if you paid more for the brakes i thought the only option was this? am i wrong?
yeah your going to love that car and the 997 has classic modern porsche styling
yeah your go to like it......congrats

A BLACK 997 CARRERA S,...............SWEET. CONGRATS. What a beautiful car,... ESP with those options you got on it.
