Here's the deal. I bought the Celica this past May from a local seller. Mechanically, it needed a lot of work - Which was taken care of. Detailing wise the exterior was really bad. I have been detailing this car for the past 2 months.
*THIS IS A TIMELINE OF THE CELICA'S DETAILING:*
(July) Washed my car with your standard car wash.
(July) I used a compound made by 3M. It's brownish and relatively expensive. I didn't use my PC for this application. I used my massive drill, with a bonnet that attaches to the front (I don't know the proper terminology). Did this 3x over the course of a day.
(July) Let Sit and Absorb
(July) One coat of wax cleaner done very THOROUGHLY
(July) Let sit and absorb
(July) Back to the 3M compound. Same instruments and process
(July) Regular wash
(August) Went to AutoZone for towels. Ended up leaving with Maguiar's (SP) Three Step Process
(August) Basically, I did 3x of each process over the course of 2 weeks
(August) The car is 90% done as there are a few deep scratches on the driver's side
door
I don't have "Before" pics. as I came across this website a little over a week ago. I'll def. get some up close pics. A.S.A.P. :nana:
The Jeep has been mine since August of 02 and has been mechanically and "detail wise" maintained thus far. Yes, the Jeep is a 2002. Could've fooled ya' and said it was a 2K6. IF you didn't know that they changed the Sahara sticker for 2K3 and stopped producing the Sahara last year.
I have used your standard car wash and Meguiar's products.
