My free foam pads that came w/ my opti-seal

Hey all - I just got a bottle of opti seal from AG and it came w/ 4 yellow foam pads. The pads feel a lot rougher than my other pads for hand application of wax so i figured i should ask...

1) Are these the same applicator pads OPT includes/features with OOS on their site? I've never had anything from optimum come with application tools before. (i.e. no pads with my poly seal, OCW, OPP, etc)

2) How good are these pads for application, even on the world's softest, crappiest clearcoat?

3) What else are these pads good for? (i.e. anybody use them for interior dressing, applying paste wax, or something like that?)

Regards

Meguiars foam hand pads are the best applicators for OS. The pads it comes with work well with carnaubas though. The denser the foam pad (tighter cell structure), the better it works with OS.

They work fine for pretty much anything....I use them for all kinds of waxes/sealants/polishes, you name it. I've waxed my car, applied dash dressing, polished aluminum wheels, conditioned leather with them, etc.

I've used mine for OOS and they work fine. I did get mine really dirty when applying OOS to the roof rack on my wife's minivan and also when applying OOS to the rims. Any recommendations on cleaning these bad boys?

Also I've thought about alternatives you could buy at say Wally World. I think a sponge (or something similiar) could replace this foam applicator but I'll have to shop around to find the right one.

I too use a MF applicator pad. The round yellow foam pad was "grabby" to the point of becoming frustrating! I haven't had that problem with a MF pad.

I thought application of Opti-Seal with the yellow circular foam pads sucked. I'll be using a microfiber circular pad next time.

Well...I think the posts/results speak for themselves here! I've got a few meg's foam pads (i like them a whole lot) and I've never tried a mf pad/applicator. Maybe I'll give both a shot.

I used those yellow pads to apply Collinite 845 by hand. They apply more product than the other brand pads (don't seem to retain/absorb as much).

I use the yellow foam applicator pads from TOL. I damp them VERY VERY LIGHTLY so they don't grab. They didn't mar the black surface on my recent detail. Plus if you order more than 5 they are $.50 a piece. So every time I order from TOL I order 10 for $5.00. I have about 30 of these things.:faint:
