My first pics

Life's too short. Laugh!
Thought I'd share a few pics of my car after a wash, polish, wax, and detail. Please feel free to comment and/or critique.

I'm kinda new to this detailing thing and I'm not sure of the lingo these pros use but in my words, I wash with a car wash called Visions of California Dreamin' available from Advance Auto. While washing I clayed it with Blackfire polyclay. Rinsed really well, dried with my favorite microfiber drying towel then polished the entire car with a PC 7424, an orange power pad and some Menzerna Final polish. Buffed any polish residues well. Then a couple coats of Menzerna FMJ, ( I used to use Blackfire. I really like the FMJ by the way) Buffed well after and between coats with some plush microfiber cloths. Did the trim with some 303 and cleaned all the glass with Stoners Invisible Glass. Finally some Menzerna gel tire dressing. (I'm not sure about it yet.) Oh, I forgot, before the tire dressing, I waxed the wheels with a product called, believe it or not, Wheel Wax. Thats basically it. Thanks for looking and for the nice comments. :D

No matter what you'll get brake dust... but with the wheel wax you'll be able to wash it off with just soap and no harsh chemicals.

The car sure looks great! Good work and welcome to the city!

Thanks everyone for all your comments. Regarding the wheelwax, I like it. I love the feel of the finish with the FMJ also. Detailing can be hard work but when it's your own, it's fun work. I've had an idea I'm going to try. I'm going to buy a few nylon artist brushes in different sizes to apply dressings to the rubber weatherstriping around the windows and other places. It's hard to do with rags or usual applicators. I always get it on the glass or paint and have to go back over it using different lighting angles to see the dressing and wipe it off. It seems to me it would be just like painting a small line, with a lot of control. Make any sense? Anyway, I'm going to try it. I'll let you guys know how it works out.
