My first PC detail and post. PICS

I'm new to the forum and have learned alot from this forum. Just figured I would say what's up and I hope I can get some more advice.

Well after all the questions and help and answers I finally got all my stuff and detailed the car, I was looking for an ultimate finish with very few swirls. Right now, all I can say is the products are bad-*** and I need some practice. Here is what I did

Wash

Meguiars Clay

3m SWM with white pad x1

Klasse AIO with white pad x1

Klasse SG with white pad x2

P21s with black pad x1

All products removed with MF towel.

Having never used the PC before, it was easy to get used to handling, at the time, I didn't have a yellow pad but I do now. I wanted to try first with the white pad not really knowing what it would do. Now that it's finished, I can see I didn't get anywhere near the results I was hoping. Using the SWM is tricky for me, how long do you use it and at what point do you stop and wipe? I was working the 3m until it had an oily look, let it dry and then buff. I did all of this in the shade and my results looked spectacular, in the shad at least. I then did the AIO and then the SG. The SG is awesome. Very difficult to see what your doing because it needs to be applied very thinly, too much and you'll be rubbing for hours. But what a shine. I waited 24 hours between coats, fighting pollen and constantly dusting the car with a CD and trying to drive as little as possible. The SG turned my car into a dust and pollen Magnet. Finally, I QD'd with Sonus, which is awesome I might add and applied P21s. This wax is awesome! I couldn't believe how easy it was to use.

All in all, I'm happy with the PC and the look that I achieved, but the micro marring needs alot of work and I need more tips on using the PC and a yellow pad I would guess. I was really worried about possibly damaging the paint and adding more damage to it. Better to not go to rough on the paint than damage it. This whole process took me about 4 days. I don't have a garage which I think would have made things alot easier. Any tips would be great. Thanks for all the help guys.

Oh yeah, I detailed the engine with engine brite and CD-2. At least I got that right.

Was the marring you have there to begin with, or was it caused from using the swirl remover?

If they were there already (they look like rotary buffer swirls - was this car "detailed" by someone else previously?) then you probably need something a bit stronger than a swirl remover. There are many products to choose from here.

If the marring came after your detail then you need to examine your technique. It could be too much product or not working it in long enough.
