My first new car!

So excited! I'm getting my first new car! Going to trade in the Taurus on a 2014 Honda Civic LX sedan in Modern Steel (a dark gray color). I got a good deal on it through the Honda employee discount program. I had them order it from the factory so that I would not get one that had gone through our detail department. It should come within the next 1 - 2 weeks. It will come from Canada by train to Nashville, and from there it will be put on a car transport truck to my Honda dealer. Then I shall take her home and get her looking right! Already got all weather mats and a trunk tray to protect the new carpet. Will post pics when I get it!

Since it is being delivered by rail, I would get a bottle of IronX ready also. Wash, IronX, Clay, then go with Rapid Fire combo Glen posted. Works great on new Honda paint!

congrats on your new ride. Honda has a good rep for their vehicles. now will be a great time to consider a permanent/semi-permanent coating. good move on bypassing the detail dept.

What all weather mats did you get? If you got the Honda OEM, I might suggest looking into Weathertech or Husky liners. The Honda's are flat and you will get dirt/moisture all around the edges of the mats on the carpet. Sounds like you are down south, so maybe salt isn't an issue, but I get salt stains around the edges of the mats. Not a big deal since I know how to clean them, but it is annoying. I am going to be looking into WT or Husky before this next winter.

Congrats on your first new car! Always a good feeling, and to know your not buying someone else's problems.

Congratulations and you have earned it. You've nursed those older cars around for long enough.....and kept them looking great too!

I think my process will be wash, Iron X, clay, BF Gloss Enhancing Polish, and then Wet Ice Over Fire. Should be a nice combo for this color. I'm considering Opti-Coating just the front bumper, black trim, headlights, and side mirrors, since I will probably enjoy wax/sealing this car fairly regularly.

I got the Honda OEM all weather mats. Not really fond of the look of Weathertech or Husky floor mats, and I never really get the inside of my car very dirty. Salt isn't an issue here.
