My First C&B: 2007 BMW Z4 M

I got the car a few months ago. It spent it's life on the dealer showroom floor and consequently was abused beyond belief. When I took delivery it looked ok, but after a Dawn bath I found out the truth.

Imagine this across the entire car.

So I used SIP, then Z5x2 and Z2x2, used Z6 between coats. It turned out great!

Love the Z4 M's! MMMMMMMMMMMM! Everyone is always ga-ga over the M3/M5, but this beast is the real deal. Much more exciting to drive then the other M's, its a wild car.

Looking great! Careful using Dawn, tho, its remove all the oils from your paint and leave it dry. It'll remove color pigments, clear coat and and even leather. It might even void your warranty...

Some of that is the Contis it comes with. Lots of Z4M owners have switched to something stickier. I've got Goodyear Eagle F1s on my roadster, and I'm getting Pirelli P-Zeros on the M Coupe (fitted to OEM CSL wheels - had to buy them from England). I also like the Michelin PS2s.

Even so, the rears do like to spin. :)

Glad to see people getting good results on Sapphire Black. Your Z4MR came out quite nice. This summer I expect I'll be kicking myself for not getting another roadster.

I was hoping that the tires would offer more grip once it warms up. :(

Although the roadster is a NICE car, I LOVE the Z4 COUPE. That rear section is just SEXY.

I cannot live without a convertible of some sort anymore. Michigan's abbreviated summers demand I take full advantage when I can. I have a Miata that didn't see it's top go up for probably 4 months last year. :chuckle:

I do agree that the Coupe is sexier, though.

Beautiful! Guess what I worked on today? Did you use a rotary?

UDM. It has certainly met my expectations. I have a bunch of work to do on the front bumper, but lying on the ground when it's 0F outside was not working for me, so I gave it a quick pass and I will finish it up in the springtime.
