I have started work today on my first 'big' project this year. Its a 2002 Alfa Romeo 156 in solid black. Here are some 'before' photos.

Just to make things even more interesting, the main lights in the building where my workshop is situated have a major fault and trip out as soon as they are turned on. This does mean I'm having to detail this car using the 4 spots as my only source of light!

Sorry for the poor quality pics. My camera is not the best in the light let alone in the dark lol.

I'm not sure if I can get each and very scratch etc out of this, but I'm going to give it my best!

Another shocker for us all to follow - good luck! I'm assuming that as the steering wheel is on the correct side you're from the UK (or AUS)? :D

Good luck!

Ben

Looks like a challenge, alright.

Looking forward to seeing your final results. Hope you're making your money's worth.

What is that on the side of the dash that takes a key to turn?

What you do there is, put the key in and turn it. That turns off the passenger airbag so a child seat can be carried on the passenger seat.

Sorry, can't help it! Is it only me or do the most "ugly/dirty/neglected" cars come from the UK?

I refer to the "other" (Mercedes) which was YUK!

Good luck, I really want to see the afters ;)

UPDATE!

Well, I have been playing around with this car for the best part of the week. The paintwork is now much improved although I've not finished waxing/dressing the exterior. Yesterday I turned my attention to the interior. On removing the floor mats I was greated with yet another supprise. I didn't have the camera at the time, so I can only show you the under side of the floor mats.

Imagine what the carpets were like!

Yes that is mould!

At last I finally completed this particular mission this morning! Its not 100%, still a few patches where bird lime has damaged the laquer, still a couple of deep scratches I just couldn't remove etc.

Anyway, heres a few pics. Feel free to make any comments!

I couldn't get any great reflection shots as the car was indoors.

I've also had a go at making a slide show with before and after pics. It lost quite alot of quality on uploading but feel free to take a look:-
