I haven't been on here in awhile but I remember a month or two back there was alot of talk about the "new" AIO and its diminished durability. I never had tried "old" AIO so I can't compare. But I think tests where you spray a product with a strong blast of water to see how it holds up for an hour or whatever is not very accurate :lol . I think on most waxes/sealants testing durability is not that scientific and the only things you can rely on is visual judging, but thats a whole 'nother thread.
In my shower I have one of those Z fogless mirrors which work great for the first couple months then it seems the coating goes away and they are exspensive so I wouldn't recommend them. Well alot of hard water spots had accumulated and I thought some AIO would clean it and keep it from fogging so much which it did :up ! Also I wanted to test the durability in my "own" way
. So I applied it twice to make sure I had adequate coverage. Every morning I showered or sometimes twice a day I would spray the mirror with a strogn blast of water for a second or two and observe the beading. For the first 2-3 weeks the beading was small, tight and pronounced, week 4 it started to fade and at the 6 week mark it had diminished considerably. There is beading still but spread out and less pronounced and no longer round/tight beads. I'm sure there is still some protection. I think for a cleaner/sealant to last a month or two is pretty impressive. And honestly I don't know what all the fuss is about I would never use it by itself it would have to be topped. Mainly I like the AIO for its cleaning of varied surfaces in and out of the car and knowing it leaves "some" protection behind.
Now if the "old" AIO is better it must have been great but the stuff I have is no slouch either. This is just my oberservations and amateur testing, so don't beat the messenger :scared: .
And its good to be back here at Autopia, but some of the new format I dislike in the version changes :furious:. Oh well change is good :woot:
