My detailing tools were stolen!

Obsessed... who me?
Not everything was stolen, mostly detailing brushes, cotton swab sticks, applicator bottles, etc. Most are easily replaceable.

However, I need some brushes quick since I have a job tomorrow so shipping is out of the question.

Anyone have any brand recommendations for brushes I can pick up locally (Wal-Mart, Meijer, AutoZone, Murrays, etc...?) I did do a search but didn't come up with many useful hits (although I did see EO as a possibility.) I'm in panic mode so forgive me... :o

Wal-Mart has a decent selection of brushes if you just need to basics.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. I hate theives!

Sorry about your loss. Agree with ebpcivicsi. Walmart and also target have some basic brushes to get you through your immediate details.

You could also go to a paint store and look at natural bristle brushes. Another option is to go to a makeup supply house, you would be amazed at the great brushes you can get there, like super soft Canadian Squirrel! Every time I use mine I have visions of bald cold squirrels running around the Canadian countryside.

Yeah, I was a bonehead and left the car unattended for a couple minutes. Good thing I kept the customer's keys with me. I don't normally do mobile jobs but the client has lots of rich friends and this was an easy wash and seal job. ;)

Anyway, car was in the parking lot at a business park. I had to park one lot over and went to my car to get something I forgot. When I came back, my small case was gone. I lost all my brushes, detailing sticks, my last two bottles of VM, assorted other bottles and a bunch of my MF towels (including most of the new pakshak MFs just got! :sosad ) Ah well, live and learn.

So I picked up a couple of Black Magic detail brushes (all Wal-Mart had) and a couple of others from the cosmetic/household sections.

I know how you feel. I lost all my equipment back in April and I am still feeling it. I am just getting a new trailer next week. I hope it is a lesson learned. My certainly was.

Good Luck!

If it's not too far away go back to the area and check the dumpsters. Most theives will take the stuff, look inside the bag/wallet etc. and then toss it if they don't want it or after they take the cash. The dumpsters probably won't be emptied until next week anyway. Depends on how bad you want your stuff. I've seen people recover purses (without money of course) just checking dumpsters in the lot. Good luck.

Wax-on/Wax-off

Man, that really sucks what part of Ann Arbor was it? I vaguely remember an arts supply store right downtown near the courthouse. Sorry I couldnt be of more help :(

Wax-on/Wax-off: good suggestion. Went back and checked but no luck. I didn't do a real thorough job of looking (i.e. didn't crawl in and start mucking around) but that's alright as everything is replaceable.

PhilStatic: It was on the north side of AnnArbor off of Plymouth road (near UM North Campus.) I found a few basics at Wal-Mart... should get me by for my jobs this weekend but the art store's suggestion a good idea.

Accumulator: Thx!

Anyhow, I'm off to the first of my weekend jobs. A buddy of mine's going to be helping and he's bringing his PC and a bunch of new products I've never used. So despite the theft, I'm kinda excited!
