My Daily Driver Details...

Last night I got bored and decided that I was going to detail my two daily drivers. The point of it REALLY was to winterize the Cooper S, and get my one week old 07 Explorer Limited ready for winter. I am somewhat pleased with the results. The S barely got any of my attention but that will be saved for another boring day/night, I've still got time. It was my first time detailing a white vehicle, all the rest of my family's cars are dark. It's nice though having a vehicle of my own that's easy to keep fairly clean and doesn't show each and every imperfection like the MINI does. I kinda like the paint too. It's the White Sand Tri-Coat option, and is a very nice metallic. It looks a lot more metallic in person than in the pics here.

Anyway... I put 3 Coats of ZFX Z5 Pro on the Explorer. Nothing really special. I used the Mother's powerball mini with Mother's Power Metal Polish, on the wheels after they had been cleaned. I was suprised to find how dirty they still were, and considering they are brand new wheels, I was really shocked, the ball was almost black after every wheel. They came out fantastic however. I used Mother's Chrome Polish on the rest of the bling. The MINI just got an engine bay wipe down and a QD. The tire shine used on both was Mother's Reflections Tire Care. I'm not that big of a Mother's person, but I have found their products for metal are some of the best. I will not put anything except Zaino or Reflections Tire Care on any vehicle though, the rest are too greasy and shiny for my tastes, well after that drawn out explanation here are the pics:

And now for the Cooper S... I did alot to it this summer, and it's quite the sleeper... Nobody expects a little grocery getter 4 banger, to turn 0-60 times in the mid-high 4s, or to be loud enough to set off multiple car alarms everyday after school. :chuckle: It has 253whp according to my latest dyno, which was on a 90* day in the middle of August, this car is so much stronger in the current temps which are around 50*. I totally replaced the roots style Eaton M45 supercharger, for the larger M62, which is running 22psi boost, cooler than the M45 was running 18psi. Too many mods to list to this car, it's my baby.

Nothing special back here besides the 3 inch exhaust tips (1.25in stock):

One of the only things that will hint that this car has anything from just looking at it, my ram air direct flow intercooler scoop:

... Then you pop the hood and see the 9k I've put into the engine:

The result of all that power? Tires I put on new in June are down to the wear indicators in October... :doh :

Don't mean to come off braggadocious, but I'm really proud of my cars...

Thanks for looking and reading!

Awesome man, at 253 whp and the car weighing (im guessing) 2900 pounds what kind of quater mile times are expected? Mid to high 13's (total guess)?

I haven't been to the strip since it was stock... and I was running high 14s then. I'm going to tweak the ecu and pretty much go for getting everything I can out of the car before I go Twincharge... then some progress can be made. This is a MINI/Fireball Project Cooper S, it's twincharged, running about 500whp without Nitrous. Cheezy video, but take a look at that 1/4 mile.

Both are very nice, love the Mini. :)

However, doesn't a loud exhaust blow the sleeper image? Probably be even more fun if it was quiet. ;)

That's why I have a cutout. ;) Plus if you pull up next to me at a stoplight u can't tell if i have a straight exhaust or not, my engine is idleing. Whats hilarious is the way the race cam i have in there now is and the fact that I purposely run a rich for safety, the exhaust will actually backfire, and produce 6 inch long flames at night. :lol

No that's something I'm going to install around Christmas. My transmission has been driven hard im not going to lie ;) and everyday it seems the clutch engages lower and lower. Ill do a 14lb Segmented Flywheel, and a Stage 3 clutch, along with a Quaife ATB Differential (LSD). It's alot of work to mess with the MINI transmission so I figured I'll do it all at once and save money and time. The stock MINI flywheel is around 29lbs so it'll rev just a lil faster with less than half the weight huh?
