I went on a little shoppimg spree for myself saturday I know it was close to christmas but I couldn't fight it. I picked up a northstar pressure washer with honda motor its 3200 psi at 3 gpm, coleman 5.5 horse 3125 watt generator,150 gallon water tank, platform style ladder to get top of trucks, flo n go gas tank to fill all my gasoline powered equiptment, and a few other items like extension cord etc. I still have a few other things to purchase. I already had a dewalt rotary which I purchased unused from a friend like two months back and a rigid vac I got on black friday. Both my sisters hooked me up one with a air compressor the other with a PC kit from autogeek. All this will go in my E-150 cargo van that I still need to figure my layout to bolt everything down. As you can already tell by my equiptment I will be going mobile I still have a long way to go but feel so happy I got this far. This are so of the items I bought that I could find on there site I went into the store locally

NorthStar Professional Series Pressure Washer — 3200 PSI, 3 GPM |Gas/Cold Water | Northern Tool + Equipment

Coleman Proforce Generator — 5.5 HP, 3125 Watt, Gasoline, Model# PM010 |Portable Generators | Northern Tool + Equipment

Flo 'n Go Combo with 3-Gallon Can, Model# 06921 |Nozzles | Northern Tool + Equipment

Please post on how you like that generator. Great price !!! How noisy is 67db ???

I have a Honda EU3000, but will gladly sell it if I can get away with a $300 generator.

Thanks.

CLEAN DEAN that I will do I went to the store several times and the guy that works there recomended that he says several detailers in the area have it and like it.

SCOTT WAX I would post pics but now I'm kind of hesitant because I started a thread asking people to post there rigs so I can see different set ups and somebody wrote in that alot of people dont like to do that because of break ins and I invested alot of money in my equiptment so far and don't want it taking.

757motoring great job on the new equipment I replaced my equipment earlier this year and know how exciting it is.

I have that generator which I got at PepBoys for around $250. It is surprisingly quiet. I wanted a Honda engine based generator but the price was too good to pass up. I've had it for around 6 months and use it everyday at work. I'm pleased with it and the size was right for me (my old 5500 watt generator took up too much room and was too loud). I've had a few problems.

Original one leaked gas right out the box, it got returned.

Current one a couple of months ago failed to start. After some checking I came to the conclusion that the oil shut off stuck. I'm the likely blame for that as I didn't change the oil and it had sludge. Changed the oil and tried a few times and it started up.

Something in the muffler started banging around a few weeks ago. I ordered a new muffler ($47 shipped). The problem went away for now so I haven't installed the new muffler yet. I think the generator has gotten gradually louder so I will be installing the muffler soon.

During the summer I don't have a heavy load on the generator just my vacuum and the runtime isn't very long per car. In the winter though I'm running the vacuum and a 1000 watt bucket heater or 2 1000 watt heaters.

Things I like : quiet, cheap, small. Starts up easy and doesn't need a very hard pull. My old generator needed a hard pull and many times cord stopped mid pull ripping handle out of my hand.

Things I don't like : Lots of stuff is behind covers. Rather not have to take stuff off to access things but it's not a big deal.

The Honda 3000 is pretty pricey in comparison but the decibel rating is exceptional. The coleman is quiet but I don't think it comes close to your Honda. Not sure how long this Coleman will last (my first coleman made it 7 years $299 and still ran just failed to put out current and had other things in need of repair). If I get 2-3 years out of it I will be happy.

Thanks PhaRO,

My first generator I purchased in 2000 was a 5500 Coleman, and it was incredibly LOUD !!! I used it for about a year and came across a year old used Honda EU3000 for $1400. Very expensive for a used unit, but other than changing the oil and air filter it has performed without a problem since. I have really got my moneys worth from this one, but knock on wood I do not know how much longer see can run without a problem.

Thanks PhaRO i'm glad you wrote in now I know someboby that has it with good results. I know they say buy the right equiptment first and not buy lesser equiptment because of money but the guy at the store assured me that it was a good buy I also wanted a honda but I felt for $300 if it last a few years It has made its money back and then some.
