This has been one of my dreams to own one, and now I not only have a Porsche, but I did it to spec. It's one hell of a car to drive and now due to the warm weather, I'm in it quite often. It has been on the track at Lime Rock.
Pictures were taken when it got off the truck and others after detail prep for Armorglove.

Enjoy!

Well thanks for the pics!!

I love the extra protection in the cockpit of that rocket. Simple yet effective:rockon

You should put 'Wood' on the plates, because that's what I get when I look at that awesome piece engineering!

You lucky Dog!

That is one sweeeet looking ride Deanski.

Did you order his nice weather out here too, just so that you car enjoy driving it more

I'm not necessarily fond of the wheels, but everything else on that vehicle is stunning! Thanks for the picutres.

Thanks guys!!:thanks

The close-up of the wheel was to get a shot of the PCCB (Porsche Composite Ceramic Brakes) and the wheels are what the Porsche community like to call "Lobster" wheels.

Those pics are when we just got it off the truck and moved it to the dealership garage. This is where they started the prep of the Porsche.

From there, it was back to my shop to clean it up and just put some glaze on it since it was new paint uncovered from the shipment paper.

From there, we cleaned the nose and other areas to put the paint film on.

That is one sexy looking Porsche, Dean :dnaughty :dnaughty

That's a PSE (Porsche Sport Exhaust) that's how you can tell, the inside ones are smaller.

No Troy, the Germans put the curves on this one on purpose.:stick

Yep, one good thing about a 997 Porsche, these things know how to run around the track and handle superb! Most GT3 and GT2 races you'll always see a Porsche finishing in the top.

It's always been a dream to get one and when I finally did, I went full out on ordering it to spec.

I didn't want to wait for a Turbo as I don't want 4 wheel drive system, I like real sports cars! If I waited longer I could have ordered at GT3. Then I found out that Porsche is releasing the GT3-RS to the USA!! Now THAT'S a serious track/street car! Too bad you can't get it with the GT seats or rollcage.

This is also a one-off car! Very unique with options and color. It's also one that has Sirius built in to the PCM system. Porsche does not make a satellite for the 997. What I did was get a kit for the Cayenne and when my car arrived, had the tech remove the cowling and we worked to hook it up. FIngers crossed, we attached the Porsche PWIS laptop, enabled the thing and it worked! Called Sirius toactivate it and now I have Sirius! It was posted over at RENNLIST and everyone was trying to get it done, but dealers will not install it. Porsche does not approve of it. Some dealers finally did do it, but PNA got wind of it. They pulled all available stock of kits back. You couldn't get one unless you had a Cayenne VIN. Welcome to Porsche!

First scheduled service: 20,000 miles! Mobil-1 oil is used, but 20,000?

Damn is this thing fun to drive. Always will excite you with the way it handles and power. With P Zero Rosso's they stick well. Not quite Mich PS-2's or the street legal flypaper PS Cups. You want REALLY sticky? Get the Mich Cups!

It now needs polishing due to so much time behind the wheel and quick washes now and then.

The PCCB's (Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes) stop like anchors! Six piston calipers, big rotors. Lighter than steel, less unsprung weight, better responce and can be heated all day long and still feel the same! I wish ALL cars had these! Insane! Worth the extra $8K!! Just don't ever wack a rotor, that will set you back $5K PER rotor! If you ever have to detail a Porsche with PCCB's and owner wants the wheels off and cleaned etc, you need TWO wheel stud hangers to avoid the wheel hitting the rotor.

I'm having a blast with this car! I wish all of you could get the chance to get one of these!

I'll tell you, the Cayman is also one sick little car that has lots of potential. So much so, Farnbacher-Loles now makes a "GTR" version. They put a 3.8 engine like my car into this thing, modify the suspension, big brakes, new interior and exterior, one sweet track/street car!

Next mods: Lower the car with Bilstein PSS9's for PASM, engine mods, a few cosmetic ones as well.

Thanks all of you!!:bigups :bigups

Deanski

Beautiful car, but Deanski, what are you gonna do when you need new brakes/rotors?

I'm not exactly sure of his finances, but if he can afford the car with all of the additions he's making, I'm sure he'll be able to afford the associated maintenance as well. One usually doesn't make this type of purchase without knowing all of the possible expenses that might/will occur in the future.

I'm sure Deanski can afford and is aware of the maintenance, but you'd be surprised at the number of people out there who are totally clueless. It just seems like that would be one heck of an expensive brake job on one of those systems if the rotors run 5K each.

They are special ceramic rotors and cost a premium. Not many people understand the dynamics of braking and the difference between ceramic and regular rotors. Not many people need the ceramic rotors either and usually just stick with Porsche's already stellar brakes.

It gives it a really aggressive look IMO. I believe Ferrari offers the same style of exhaust, but I could be wrong? I really like the yellow calipers and seat belts as well. On any other car/color I don't think it would look right, but for some reason it looks great on the Porsche :dnaughty
Nice work with the Siruis install too, now your Porsche is truly one of a kind!

We've got a 1979 924 Sebrine (sp) SE out in my grandfathers barn, when my dad saw it brand new on the lot back then he HAD to have it, after the break-in period he installed new cam gears, high flow exhaust, lowered the car about .75" and I know he added a few more mods as well. Unfortunately my mom told him it was "too much car" for him, but with 4 of us kids at home I don't blame her for making him park it. Since then it's seen maybe 500 miles at the most. Since it's been sitting the entire fuel system has gone to hell (we tried to get it fixed, ended up spending like $1900 to find out the "mechanic" only cleaned the engine and replaced the fuel filter...). Now mice are living under the hood as well, and the interior is shot too...I know it's not the most popular of the Porsche line but it's a shame to see it just rot away in the barn :(
I've caught my dad eying some pictures of the new Cayman, he seems to really dig the little car, as do I! Even if I could afford a 997 I would consider buying the smaller Cayman, I imagine it's "sporty" as hell!

Sorry for the hi-jack :bubba

Hey, you've got the same fancy floor mats as Bryce got in his new Honda Fit!!

Have you had it out in the wintry weather yet, or is it only a "fair weather" vehicle?

Thankfully, they last the life of the car I've been informed by Porsche. They have them on several track cars with loads of miles and show very little wear!

No, only fair weather, it's not a C4S. Those can be driven in snow like any other 4 wheel drive car.
