The paint looks amazing. Very Very clear and relflective.

The car is very unique. Can't say I've seen anything like it before.

Thank you. I painted it with House of Kolor paint. It's black with brandy wine kandy over top. Not cheap, and not quick to do. Also not easy to paint a car in the shape of a ball ...but I think the end results are worth it.

Every second of it. I lost count how many hours I have into the car. I'm about 95% done with it. Have to finish putting in my interior and finish cleaning the rubbing compound from the cracks.

Then just a few external items (ie. the bumpers, logos, ect...)

The end is in site now :)

Thanks for the compliments.

The lack of orange peel is immediately apparent, amazing job on the paint work and I love that color!

Any engine mods?

It's basically a stock 1600 motor. I did put some mild performance heads on because hopefully next spring I'll be getting a dual carb setup for it. I just couldn't swing the $600 this year. Other than that it's stock.

The color came out better than I thought it would. When you paint with custom colors you don't get a paint chip to look at. So I was a little nervous until I got it in the sunlight.

It looks great:bow super job I used to see a lot of those back home when I was younger , but none ever looked that good:xyxthumbs

very nice SB love the color , what brakes are you running? I'm currently building a 71' standard , a mix of cal & german looks.

I'm sorta doing the German Look. As you can see, for the most part it is dechromed. However, I will be using chrome bumpers and headlight rings instead of paint them to match the body.

I couldn't afford to do the true German Look using Porsche brakes, so I bought the disk brake conversion for all 4 wheels from Topline . I had them drill the rotors for the Porsche bolt pattern so I could use the Porsche wheels. Great place to deal with.

Good luck with your project. They sure are alot of fun. I'm really looking forward to the day I can take this on the road.

~One man’s opinion~

Excellent job mate. :xyxthumbs

To elect a compliment on a paint surface from Sottwax is praise indeed

Experience unshared; is knowledge wasted…/

Ray,

That is one S W E E T VW! :bow

That combo of Klasse topped with Souveran is very rich and deep. If you get a chance, post some pics with the new combo in the same sun as the Klasse pics.

Keep up the great work!

Cheers,

I cannot believe how awesome your SB is. I love the wheels. The rear tire wheel combo looks SO GOOD!!!!!!!!!! I am drooling. This by far is the best looking VW I have ever seen. There must have been a great improvement on the handling..........

Oh, by the way, Paint looks GREAT! Love the combo of waxes
