Been a while. Has been a challenging couple of years. I think I'm getting back into the groove of detailing again. Pretty easy subject... Enjoy

Gorgeous car! How are you liking it so far?

I'm waiting for the Regal GS to be out before I look into getting one.

I'm very impressed with the car for the price. I was looking at a malibu fully loaded ltz for 33. I think the regal was a better choice for 28 and a four year 50,000 mile warranty. It wasnt even on my radar. I walked right passed it on the lot and said meh buick... What's crazy is the regal was made in germany and basically imported. not normal for buick I don't think.

The interior is nice and well thought out. perfect driving position and controls. I'm pretty fond of the usb connectivity and control of a mass usb device. Perfect for my droid with all my tunes. don't have to use the ear phone jack adapter so less cords and mess.

The down sides are noisy over rough roads and a lazy shift from first to second gear in the manual shifting.

Handling is great but I live in a small town and don't open it up much. The way I see it I got most of the nice comforts of a euro import with an american badge and lower price. I'm pretty pleased. the turbo will be sick.

Yeah the Regal actually started life as the Opel Insignia in Germany; for the first year of production they're importing them from Europe, but production is going to be moved to Ontario, Canada late this year or early next year.

Sadly I think a lot of people still have the same "meh, Buick" reaction and don't look close enough to realize that these are no longer old folks' cars. I've read many reviews that have the LaCrosse/Regal besting imports from the likes of Lexus, Acura, etc.

:bigups

agreed.

One thing is Olds tried to re-identify its brand with a new customer base and didnt fair so well. By the time Olds tried they were way past irrelevant. The intrigue was a great car. Buick I think has a better following and their efforts have made better progress than Olds did.

Its a fun car to drive. the euro cues are strong and it's a beautiful car. overall very satisfied with the purchase. Just like they used to say not your grandfathers Olds (cept it's Buick now)

I was thinking the same thing when I bought it. Midlife crisis you buy something young and sporty. pre midlife crisis buying something old and antiquated, not the best idea. But I was shocked when I saw it/drove it.

Congrats! :bigups

I too am stoked about the GS model. I will say Buick has come a long way and if they really want to appeal to a new generation, they need to market aggressively. Old images die hard and it's going to take a lot of work to shed Buick's 'old guy car' image. Personally I like the LaCrosse; by far the most impressive car I checked out at the car shows last year, mostly because I wasn't expecting it at all.

Very true. I hated seeing Olds go away, having had several family members who worked for them (I am, after all, from Oldsmobile's home town), but I think they were mismanaged for far too long to recover, despite the great products they had toward the end like the Intrigue, second-gen Aurora, and updated Bravada.

Buick, though, has one major thing going for it in that it's the third highest selling brand in China -- so I don't think there's any chance of it going away any time soon.

Very informative thread. Thanks for the input. The final olds products were heading in the right direction. I sold cars right when the intrigue was launched.

For all you GS folks... How easy is it to find a Regal in your locale? My local dealership got one. GS will hit sooner or later, but be ready as they will be in limited supply and hard to get. So I've heard. Might be some dealership bs...

The 3 local dealers around me average around 6-8 Regals on each lot.

My wife and I just bought a 2010 Buick La Crosse. We're both mid twenties too. She wanted a european car but didnt want to pay the european price or the maintenance costs. We went to look at the car we ended up buying and loved it. Had everything she wanted and for the right money. We also looked at the regals but they were a bit too small for us as we're looking to start a family in the next few years....overall we love the car.

Awesome, congrats on the purchase! What color did you pick?

nice car, great write ups on it. we have 14 at our local dealership, but no GS's yet

GS won't be out for another year or so yet; and even then it's a disappointment. No AWD, only 255hp, no Recaro seats like the concept (and production Opel Insignia OPC) have.

I was planning to get one, but not now. What do I want with an over-priced FWD sedan that's short on power?
