I bought my 2002 Maxima at the end of January after I totaled my Civic. I attempted to give it a detail over spring break, but it didn't come out to my liking. Used Menzerna IP and realized it wasn't as intensive as its name suggested.
So over Thanksgiving break, I tried it again. The horizontal surfaces were badly swirled and there were a some deep scratches. There are still a lot of swirls on the hood and trunk, probably from previous body work and they were too deep for me to get out. Also, bad orange peel on the hood.
Thought I'd share since I learned how to do this from reading stuff on here.
Products used:
wash: ONR
polish: PB SSR 2.5 w/ orange cutting pad on a PC
final polish: Ultima Paint Prep
LSP: Ultima (bought the sample size last year and when I brought it out this time, there was settling of stuff that didn't mix back after shaking. I think it still works though)
Tires: Black Magic Matte
No clay since it was clayed it March/April
Here are a couple of enhanced ones just for fun
