Mustang third brake light correction...

This is some before and after for probably one of the most common problem areas of this style mustang... the rear third brake light lense. I don't know if I've seen a mustang this style without a crapped out lense. I guess it is the material.

Process:

  • Wet sand with 400 grit
  • Wet sand with 1000 grit
  • Wet sand with 2000 grit
  • Polish with ScratchX on a LC orange pad on rotary at about 1,200 rpm

Ha...I wonder if that was some mistake where they specified the same material they use for the CHMSL that's in the rear window--where it gets a lot more UV protection behind the glass.

That's what I am guessing because just about everyone I've seen is like this one or worse. Unless they are garaged. Hopefully the two coats sealant (DG #101 + #105) and AW every once in a while will protect from happening again.

looks great. my light still looks good, was outside for 3 years, but garaged for the past 2

Yeah I think that is key (garaged). I think these lenses do not like UV rays.
