OK so I'm a complete beginner in the detailing world but the whole philosophy appeals to me so I began work on my little motor.
It's had plenty of washes and detail touches over the last couple of weeks (ie thorough cleaning of door jams and under the hood etc) and then it was onto the real meat of the work.
I don't have time to do the whole whack in a one'r but that's just fine, what's the rush? I'm enjoying my new hobby and the results are in line with my expectations and hey - if I could get perfect results now what's wrong with everyone else right?
So yesterday I washed the car and dried it with my new blue pearl drying towel (supplemented today by a meguiars but it's only a small car so one just about does it). Then I set to work with my mass of gear ordered from Sonus. I went in the stages as below;
Clay and buff
Acrylic spritz wipedown
SFX 1 with orange pad on £20 titan random orbit sander (fantastic bit of kit for the money and as a proffesional engineer, y'all'll be hard pushed to persuade me it's no good!!)
SFX 2 with green pad
Acrylic spritz wipedown
KAIO (applied by hand due to extraoidinary range and volume of fling off)
The car was then left overnight for the KAIO to cure and was attacked again this evening, as follows;
Acrylic spritz wipedown
Autoglym Extra Gloss protection (It got some great reviews here so I decided to give it a whirl)
Second coat of EGP
Then on the hood only I put two coats of Carnauba wax (P something or other from Sonus)
I decided to only do this on the bonnet as a form of comparison so I'll see how the longevity goes and update as time goes on.
This sounds fairly comprehensive to me but alas it was only on one side of the car!!
Well, just thought I'd put pen to paper and get contributing to this awesome community after weeks of leeching info and tips.
All comments and thoughts welcome.

ps pics were to be included but they won't upload for some reason, I will post when I can.
