muriatic acid to clean wheels

Has anyone used this acid (maybe diluted 9 parts water/1 part acid) (I know to add acid to water, wear gloves, stay away from fumes, and use neutralizing agent) to clean brake dust off wheels? Will it harm the clear coat? What is max dwell time? I really want responses from people that have actually used it and best water dilution ratio.

I tried to search forum but responses were vague. thanks

10:1. You do not need to let it dwell. You could just spray it on a microfiber and wipe the wheel off. I would immediately rinse with water after spraying the wheel or wiping it.

Yes, I have used it on wheels before.

When Muriatic acid is mixed with water it is transformed into hydrochloric acid.

In other words, get it on and get it off.

I thought muriatic acid was just another name for hydrochloric acid. Normal concentration for muriatic is 32% (20 Baume).

Have you ever used stronger concentration, say 4:1? to clean really caked dirty wheels?

so sorry to waste anyone's time. I just realized I posted the same question last january (I thought I posted it on a different forum)..I appreciate the responses and any update information from anyone who has used it and their results.
