Multiple layers via PC

Hey guys, curious if its a good idea to apply multiple layers of anything via pc. For example, if I've applied some wax last week, would using a PC on speed 1 to apply more wax remove or damage the previous layers?

Nah, since you've waited one week, I think the layer of protection should be strong enough for layering. Just don't use excess pressure and you should be fine.

Unless it's a cleaner wax or has some sort of abrasives in it, it's fine to layer. However, not all waxes can be layered (due to the mild abrasives to remove previous buildup/residue) so extra coats of those are purely for even coverage. What wax are you using?

Pete's 53, natty blue and Collonite 845

You're fine layering 845. Just don't apply it very aggressively, like with lots of pressure (and even then I dunno if it'd dissolve/compromise the previous layer).

For the paste waxes, if you're really worried you might try a pseudo-spitshine: spray a *VERY little* chilled QD or distilled water (I usually use Griot's Speedshine) on first and then apply the wax, working it until all traces of the "spit" are gone. Repeat for emphasis- don't use too much spit, just enough to lube the surface a little.

FWIW, I never apply my waxes with speed 1, never even *tried* speed 1 that I can recall. I usually apply waxes with 3.5-4.5, with 4 probably being the speed I use most often.
