Mother's Sealer&Glaze

I don't know much about this product. I did a search but found little, only 2 or 3 posts. I want to give this a try, but I am kind of tired of buying crappy products that I never use.

So how is it?

It contains kerosene, is that bad?, kind of scary sounding. I know almost all products contain PD's but kerosene?

Kerosene is a petroleum distillate. Although I'm biased, I find it to be a product that gives a great, even shine, and does a good job of filling swirls and adding depth.

It provides no protection, though, so you'll need to add a layer of a wax without cleaners for longevity.

On our show cars, it's all we use - no wax.

Is kerosene have any bad long term effects though?

You don't find more shine with wax on top?

Kerosene has no long term adverse effects on paint.

Adding a layer of wax to glaze actually gives you a lower gloss reading than the glaze alone, since you're addng a layer between the light and the glaze.

Keep in mind, wax is for protection. Glaze is what creates the shine.

If it were a daily driver, exposed to the elements, it would require a different paint care program than a garaged toy. That would be the purpose of the wax in this case.

I use this product time from time....I like it. It's one of my favorite glazes. Its easy to use and looks good. It was one of the first products I had ever used and even after Autopia....I still come back

I used some tonight and it really turned out well, I did top it with Mothers Carnuba but don't think I had to.

Seemed to conceal the small scratches really well.

What color car? Did it add a lot of wetness?

I just picked up a bottle today.

My S100 SEC turned moldy.

This stuff rocks.:up , used it today for the first time. Went on and off even a little easier than S100 SEC and left an extremely wet look. I topped with S100 wax.

A few minor negatives, attracted a lot of dust, in the garage with the door open, as I was applying wax. I had to keep blowing off the dust debris. That problem stopped once the wax was on.

I don't like the yellow die in the product that makes it "California Gold" , made my MF's yellow, it will probably wash out though. I am just being picky.

Holy solvents in this product. It reaks, my bathroom smells like gasoline from washing the applicator. I don't care though because of the awesome performance.

I will continue to use this product. I love sleepers.

Mother's products are some of the original products I first started to use. Even though I have grown into several "enthusiast" based products, I still give a :up for Mother's.

I'm a real big fan of this product too. I think it does a better job of filling swirls than 3M's and Meguiar's glazes and is a heck of a lot easier to use.

Avis, yeah, there is a pretty good amount of solvent in the product, but I didn't notice any more of a 'stench' than I would with IHG or Meguair's #7. But then again, I wasn't playing close attention.

Any application tips?

I use it as part of the Mothers 3-step system on the gf's Tib.

TIA

I just rub it in with a foam app. to the size of about a 1/2 or 1/3 of a hood, then buff off with a MF.

Are you having problems with it?
