Mothers Reflections

I was just wondering if anyone has used this product and how well it performs. I have seen it at many local auto parts stores Pep Boys and Autozone and see it sold out most of the time.

I was wondering does it really put on a 'reflection' shine and how easy is it to use. Any feedback is greatly apperciated.

just stick with the regular mothers line, its really the best they offer. THe reflectios is just thier attempt to put as many acronyms in a product as possible. Mothers is the best stuff youl find at pep boys.

Interesting that your question appeared this weekend. I was given a bottle of their Reflections Polish on Friday and tried it out on my daily driver. This is supposed to be a resin polish and is not a wax or carnauba based product. It is advertised as being "long lasting". Frankly I'm really impressed with the shine. It is the best shine I've seen from anything on the few panels I tried it on. I'm really pleased with this initial test. I'd highly recommend anyone try it. I really think it will surprise some people.

Blake,

Please followup on your results in a few weeks. A while back I was given some Meguires Gold Class, and tried it on my beater. Wow, the shine was excellent. However, two weeks and 1 wash later, and it was dull as ever. No lasting power. Beware of initial shine. So if it lasts, let us know! Thanks.

I demo'ed it today on 2 cars up in Maine at a car show, outside, in the sun.

It's an exceptionally easy product to work with both on application and removal, but keep in mind it's a one step product - it's not a miracle. The cleaners are very mild, so it's not suitable for beaters with oxidized paint.

I use it on my daily driver and my wife's mini-van, but prefer to use a multi-step program on my toys.

The biggest difference you'll find is the product (a synthetic/resin) is much softer than carnauba, so the paint won't feel as slick.

RH: This is a synthetic product. Gold Class is a carnauba based wax although not high in carnauba wax. I have been using Klasse and before that used Autoglym which are both synthetics also. I was told to expect "sheeting" rather than beading when washing the car but I was also told that it was durable and the shine would be long lasting. As I said the shine was really surprising. It looked "plastic".

I'll report back on this after I've had more time with it. I found application (thin coat) and removal quite easy and not unlike AIO but definitely more shine.

Thanks for all of the feedback on this product, I might as well try it out and see how it does.

RH: Does Gold Class really dull after one wash? I bought some a few days ago and put a real good coating on my Mustang. I must admit it left a really good shine. Im hoping it will last, but it rained all day today and I am going to wash it tomorrow.

Guess we will see what happens and I will report back on how the Mothers product works and see if the Gold Class holds up.

I've experienced Gold Class myself. It's loaded with oils, which will dissipate with heat/washings.

I have had a similar experince with gold class. I washed and waxed a neighboors car with it for kicks to see how well it would do, 2 weeks later she took it the the touchless (cringe) and it still looked ok, but after a week in the sun most of the shine was gone and the swirls back. The smell of Gold Class also gives me a little headache, its a decent smell, but not something like Pinnacle Souveran (mouth watering at pina colada smell.)

My gold class now sits with the turtle wax rubbing compound and Z-best car wax someone gave to me at a car show.

I have lot of time for Mother's Reflections, a good product for the price. I have been using it for (as well as Klasse and Zaino - not together!) for over a year. It is better than Autogylm in my opinion.

After hearing all of the replies and suggestions I believe I am going to switch over to the Mothers 3 Step process along with reflections, reflections car wash, and Showtime Instant Detailer. A lot of people praise them and say they are good products.

As for the Meguiars Gold Class, my shine was excellent after it had rained for a day and a half. I washed it today, a nice shine is still on, so Im crossing my fingers.

Stevecham,

I dont want to sound like a broken record, as this gets said everyday around here, but anyway, you really should give Klasse All In One and Klasse Sealant Glaze a try. They are far superior to anything you have listed, and will last a LOT longer...both in terms of shine, and durability. It might seem expensive, but it goes a looooong way.

I agree. I used the Mothers 3-step process for a while and got great results with it...like i said, the best of pep boys. But after using KLasse, i have to say that it is far, far superior. Coupled with the 3M polishes and Blitz (but the mothers is a good wax also, just with a little less depth), you have a finish that looks much better. You will not be displeased at all with the mothers, but you will be extatic with the KLasse, i promise. I was reluctant at first to make the jump, but it was well worth it. -Brad Hayward

Yea I don't mind paying the extra money to get a great shine. If im going to put in a lot of detailing time into my car, I might as well get some good products.

My question is where can you find it in stores or do you have to order it online? And what would you recommend as to do a full detail?

Edit: I think Pep Boys has some 3M products because I remeber seeing them there, are those the one's to get along with Klasse?

Klasse is ordered on-line. Two websites to get Klasse is http://www.properautocare.com or http://www.tacscar.com . They both offer kits, which I recommedn you get one as long as you get a bottle of AIO and one of SG.

For swirls, if they are VERY VERY light then 3M Swirl Mark remover may get rid of them if not the next step is 3M Finesse It II Finishing Material. These products are available at NAPA if you don't see them ask for them, or just get them on-line at http://www.3M.com

1. wash
2. 3M polish swirls as necessary
3. Klasse AIO (2 coats seem to be produce better results by report form other forum members)
4. Klasse SG (3-5 coats)

Maintain with wash when the car gets dirty, and QD to maintain that shine.

Later
Jason

Edit: Clay if your paint feels rough, that would be between step 1 and 2, I use Meguiars Qd with my clay.
