Mothers new Reflections and Reflections Top Coat.

I got a new P/U yesterday, silver Toyota .

My first detail on it went well.

It was made less than a week ago in Fremont only an hour away so it was only a few days old.

Because of that I skipped the clay bar, mistake?????

Anyway used two of Mothers great new products, first the new Reflections.

I went on very ( by hand), very EZ, hazed quickly, and wiped right off with microfiber. Also did not stain the trim.

Produced a crisp deep shine, slick to the touch, very happy with it.

I than applied the new Reflections Top coat, again by hand and it wiped on covered well and the haze came right off. Again wiped right off the trim, no stain.

I think it enhanced the shine and sofened it a little, a great topper.

I was impressed with both the gloss and the depth.

I did this in the garage during a rain storm, no sun, but took a picture even though it was cloudy and dark to see if it would show the depth and gloss, it did but not to well but will attach it anyway .

Overall very happy with the new Reflections products, user friendly, outstanding shine and no down side of staining the trim, good job Mothers.

Sure looks good!

You might want to consider trying Mothers FX Synwax products on that silver paint. Sometimes the synthetic waxes look even better on light colors like that.

Thanks White

Actually I did, I did the roof and hood with FX, turned out great, as good or maybe a little better, but I have had such good luck with Reflections thats what I used.

I got the chance to use Reflections and Top Coat also. I was very impressed with both. The new Mothers is probably the easiest and most forgiving stuff Ive used. I think the improvements in Reflections was worth the effort. Top Coat is sans any cleaners. Great idea for those that like to "layer".

FX is much shinier than Reflections. To me, its just a more 'bling' version of Reflections, for the NXT crowd. All of the FX stuff is really shiny. The packaging isnt quite as ultra hip hop and "fast and furious" as NXTs though.

Haven't tried the new Reflections, but I did get a chance to try a little of the FX..... and I agree......... very shinny (and nice) stuff. Personally, I like the FX more than NXT......... but that's just my opinion. :D

I'd be interested in trying and/or hearing more reviews of both FX Spray Wax and Reflections Top Coat.

I am surprised that they designed the Reflections Spray wax to NOT be wipe on wipe off but has to haze like a traditional wax.

Yet FX Spray wax is wipe on wipe off.

Ric - the products appeal to different types of users. The step up consumer (Reflections) is more traditional, and expects to buff wax to remove.

The tech-savvy consumer (FX) has no such notions.

The truck looks great! In my opinion the old reflections was already better than NXT, it just lacked the hype..... ;)

If the new products are better than old reflections, I will be very happy as the old one had almost no flaws.

I just tried the new FX Spray Wax. Did my sons silver Nissan, did it twice, wet and shiney like I spent all day waxing it , looks great. Now on my car a dark green Kia it didnt work so good, it did shine very good but it was streaking. Most of the streaks were on the hood , the hood was warm but no way hot ,I tried wiping with terry towels and Mf towels, I findly got the streaks out but it was a lot of buffing. What am I doing wrong?

How much product did you apply to each vehicle?

Was it about the same amount on both vehicles? Was your son's car warm to the touch, too?

In other words, what was different between the 2 vehicles?

I've been trying to log into the Mother's site to ask..would the Reflections Topper look OK over Wolfgang??

I've got a black car..did a little polishing last Fri after work..then applied one coat of Wolfgang..then it snowed.

I saw the ads for Reflections and wondered if Topper would simply add some depth to black?

Hi folks, I think the truck looks awesome. As for the Mothers product line, I have used them for years, with no dissapointments. I just wish that the first review was with an old daily driver. I first detailed a DD years ago, with such results using Mothers products including the LSP. I dont want to strip off my Z2Pro to test it on my driver, but hopefully someone will. I sincerely hope nobody feels dissed by my comments, but old finishes are the test I look for. (since my greatest pleasure is to revive old, neglected paint ) I know products can make new finishes even more beautiful, but I love trying to bring back the dead looking ones... again, no offense

unclearty - Top Coat is a synthetic/carnauba blend. I can't be sure that it would be compatible with Wolfgang, so I can't give you an definite answer.

Congrats on the '05 Yota...looks great, I have been itching to use their pure Carnauba wax because I have never tried it but hear good things.
