The owner of this 2004 Mustang contacted me wanting to know if I could freshen up the paint on it because he was going to be taking it to a car show In Charlotte North Carolina in two weeks. So we set a time for it to be dropped off that would give me a couple of days to complete the work. I haven’t used the Mothers line in a while and figured I would make this an all Mothers products car. The only exception would be items like towels or brushes etc. Personally I think it turned out great.
Mothers products used:
Professional Rubbing Compound

Professional Foam Pad Polish

Car Wash Soap

Clay Bar System

Showtime Instant Detailer

Synthetic Paste Wax

ReVision Glass & Surface Cleaner

Reflection Tire Care

Wheel & Tire Cleaner

Pure Brazilian Carnauba Wax

Carpet & Upholstery Cleaner

Leather Tech Wash

Leather Tech Cream

During our initial conversation the owner said the cars pretty much a garage queen with only 8900 miles on it but it has some spider web type scratches in it but nothing too bad. When he arrived he had driven about 30 miles in the rain and the car was wet and dirty but actually looked pretty good. After a quick wash to just clean the paint I was able to see the true condition of the paint. Nothing really terrible just normal marring, RIDS and bird etchings but considering the car is 11 years old and has never been polished only hand waxed it was quite nice.
I have to apologize for the picture quality I just got a new DSLR camera and am still trying to learn how to use it. The white balance is off so the pictures look a little washed out.
These inspection shots are from different areas of the car and are the condition of every panel.
Bird etching and RIDS on the top of the left front fender.

The scratch in these next two pictures ran the length of the hood.

Top of the right front fender.

Random shots around the car.

I did my test spot using a Flex 3401 LC white CCS pad and Foam Pad Polish. These next two pictures and video are FPP only.

Click on the picture to see how much scratches and marring refract the light hiding the true color of the paint.

While I was getting good correction with the Foam Pad Polish it was exposing numerous RIDS that were too deep to get out with a polish only. So rather than do spot compounding all over the car I decided to just go ahead and compound the whole car. These next pictures are compound shots only. The nice thing about the Mothers compound is the minimal dusting. If you look close you can see there is hardly any compound dust on the car.
