Mothers FX SynWax

I've searched but didn't find a whole lot of info about Mothers FX SynWax, so I was curious if anyone has had an opportunity to try it out. I'm particularly curious to know how its look compares to some of the more popular boutique sealants, such as EX-P, Zaino, and FMJ.



I've got a lot products that work well on darker paints, but I'd like to have something that really brings out some clear, sharp, bright reflections.

I've used FX SynWax and was pretty pleased with the results at first, but then I started getting too much white residue.
 
I've used it on 3 vehicles and have been very pleased with it. Application and removal are a breeze and it actually produces a nice clear shine/reflection. Slickness is present, but it's not super slick. Durability has yet to be tested as I just finished the vehicles last week. If you are looking for something to bring out the flake on light colored metallics this does a decent job. However, for darker colors this didn't seem to cut it IMO, it didn't provide much depth or wetness on my victory red, but seemed to provide a warming effect much like a traditional carnuaba. Many compare this directly to NXT which is IMO not the best comparison to make. NXT has more cleaners in it as well as having a better ability to hide swirls with a couple applications. In my experience the syn wax had little to no cleaning properties and did very little by way of hiding swirls. Both products have a place on the shelf for me, NXT is a great maintenance wax while FX is a decent topper on light metallics (though I still prefer EX-P).
 
It is very clear, and produces very sharp reflections. I find it as reflective and clear as EX-P, and seems to be close to it in durability. Very very easy to apply and remove. I don't find the cleaners as mild as travisdecpn, but they are milder than NXT's. Personally, while I think FX is a better product than NXT, NXT is more versatile. FX direct rival would be the old mothers reflections (2002) while NXT direct rivals are EO nanowax, turtle wax PUG and the champion for OTC: Mothers reflections advanced car wax (2005)



I would pick FX as first choice for silver and white topping a glaze.

For metallics, reflections 2005 to make the flakes "pop". NXT as second



If light, clear sharp reflections ( a ton of them) is what you like, FX fits the bill nicely (more than any other OTC product)

By Glaze you mean something like VM right? I want to do my GFs car this weekend and it is a light silver. Was thinking VM, Trying mothers just for giggles, and topping with Nattys or #16.

You are correct. VM is a glaze
 
A buddy of mine just bought a 2001 Honda Accord silver in color.Even though it was certified, the detailing of the paint was poor at best. When I stopped over his house we deceided to see if it would shine a little better. We clay it and a lot of dirt came out of the paint, then I used Fx Syn wax , boy what a difference. You could see the reflection of all the trees around the car. Now it looks certified.
