mothers fx spray wax

There is no cure!
third thread today!

until about 2 months ago i was using wheelsealant all the time. would clean my wheels with soapy nxt and my tires and wheels would look awesome. after about 3 weeks tho they werent soo easy anymore and begean to accumulate brakedust. now this isnt WS's fault. i would wash/spray and wipe my wheels 3 times a week so im sure that added to the loss of duabilty, and im sure, just like other waxes/selants/ect would do in a situation such at the wheels (tons of heat, corroding Brakedust, ect) u would need to reapply another coat or start off with more than one layer.

this i found really hard considering i didnt like having to reach into the spokes of the wheels and then having to buff off.

i picked up some mothers FX spray wax thinking of it like a qd. had a nice red bottle which quickly brought it to my attention. as reading the bottle i noted that it can be used on a wet car, so i immedaitly thouhgt to use it in place of my spray and gloss while drying.

it did an "ok" job when it came to the finsih... since its probably primarily polymer/silicone it gave a bright shiney look that didnt favor my carnuba i had on it. so i bumped it down to wheel use. at the time i had cleaned the wheels with spray/rinse 1:3 and was contemplating if or when i would apply the wheelsealant again. so for the moment i left the mothers fx spray wax for wheel duty.

boy did it brighten my metallic flake almost to the extent wheelsealnt did. then if that wasnt enough, it was just as slick and kept the brakedust off just like WS did. now ive been using it after everywash, not really worrying the strength of my wheelcleaner, and i must say, its a lot easier FOR ME to just use mothers fx spray wac on the wheels than it is do apply another layer of WS every 4 weeks.

u guys should give it a try . 2-3 full mists per wheel, and then follwoing with a damp mf to wipe off the water.

Not a bad idea.
I've been noticing this product getting a bit of exposure lately. Does sound nice but not sure where it'd fit into my regime. Might just pick it up for wheel use, maybe windscreen too.
Didn't know it could be used on a wet car, that does make it a bit more useful.

Yup, I've been doing that for about a month now. Makes the wheels very easy to clean and it's also easier than a wheel sealant to put on, plus it looks great. I use it as a WAUD on the rest of the car when washing, too.

I have been using this on the inner wheels and door jambs. Very easy to use and works very well. Great for places that are hard to get at with an applicator.

also bump the way u can just spray it onto u're wet rim and wipe like u normally would to dry... wheelselant will always be reserved for those cars
who probably wont do it every week/

now protction wise i wouldnt know but people actually claim for it to give a good 406 weeks protection. i personally am not one to wait and find out, and im sure when used on a dry rim it would offer a longer durablty than when on a wet rim.

all in all i dont worry because i know is however long it last, it will last till the end of the week for my next wash.

but if u already have WHEELSEALANT on, be sure that this will offer a goood boost to the selant.

I used it on wet wheels, and it's holding up pretty well. It definitely lasts at least week on the rim, so if you wash weekly you will find the rims pretty easy to clean. As joyriide said, you just spray it on the wet rim--that's the only added step--and then dry the rim as you normally would.

is this at all comparable to the newer Turtle wax QD

not sure. havent used the new one, but the previous one from ultra gloss is mroe of a qd with slight carnuba than a moderate protection selant/wax
