Mothers Day Gift Ideas.

There is no cure!
What can I get someone who can basically can get anything I can get her, easily!

Its Mother's Day soon, and I'm back to the same dilema I have every Christmas, birthday, and Mother's Day. What the heck do I get my mother?

She's a business woman who is ALWAYS working and barely has time for herself. She works long hours from 9am till 10pm sometimes. She likes sweet pastries. She's middleage.

I'm really lost. Any ideas from the veterans?

Norah? What would you want? haha

Help!

I'd bet that your mother would enjoy spending the day with you doing about anything....take her to lunch at a nice place...I'm taking the wife out into the wine country for an afternoon picnic with my son....quality time is what I'm saying, in the end that's all that counts.

I'd like somebody to detail my car WITH me!! But then I guess I'm not a typical "middle-aged" mother!!:stick

But if my son sees this, "Yes, that was a 2x4 with the word "HINT" written across it that just hit you upside the head!" ;)

Now, here's my idea for you, Joy - get up early on Sunday morning & buy some of those sweet pastries that she likes, & fix her a nice tray with them, coffee, juice & a flower & serve her "breakfast in bed" (or at the table if she'd be more comfortable) then don't let her lift a finger all day as you spoil her by doing whatever she wants. You don't need to go out to eat, grill some steaks or something else that she would enjoy for dinner. Treat her like a queen for a day!! Good time spent with you is the one thing that she cannot buy for herself & as a mother, that's what means the most to me.

Oh, and don't forget a nice card with a real sentiment from you!

And, no, Rabbi, you're right - I just couldn't stay out of it!! ;)

I think I might use some of your ideas. I was planning on buying her sweets, but didn't think of actually making her breakfast and letting her feast on them. Hopefully she doesn't pull the whole "I'm out for the whole day, I don't like attention" stunt.

My mother in law just retired last month but she use to work long hours also. My wife and I got her a gift certificate for a day at the spa I'm sure she will enjoy that.
