After being a member for around a year, and appreciating all the hard work ALL of you guys do, I would start this list with Mr. David Fermani.I see his work and I have detailed for over twenty years, and the guys work blows me away!!!!

Who do you put on this list and why?

Toto, along with David, does amazing work too. Heck, this is REALLY hard! So many great and talented folks in Autopialand!

Phil from Detailier's Domain posts up some FANTASTIC stuff as well......um, Rydawg, Picus, this list is going to very large very fast!

I vote for USER NAME.

Finally someone with some sense! I'm now perfecting the "ear wax" lsp.

I vote for anyone who's honest, so IMO, Scottwax probably leads the list in honest guys who perform top notch work.

This thread is about the best detailer, not the best lawyer in NY City....Baleedat!!!

In between being "da best lawyer in NYC", I also have time to be the "best" detailer on the east coast. The guys from Unique Whips try to get my services all the time, but they can't afford me. I think it's my humble nature they admire. :lol

If Todd is the guy who always has the sweet backdrop (palm trees, brick drive) then either he's a real good photographer or awesome detailer.

but you know, the write up and pictures help too.

I respect anybody who does this full time and doesn't misrepresent detailing.

I don't even want to type that list in fear of leaving somebody out (because the list is huge).

However there are particular posters on this forum who have absolutey inspired me...

DaveKG

SuperiorShine- I wanted to be like Joe!

Picus- Great write ups and some of the best posts ever on this forum. Great blend of photography and work.

01BluCLS- I would look forward to his work on a weekly basis. He raised the bar for everybody, IMO.

Rydawg- Probably the most intense paint polishing machine in the US and always willing to help somebody out. He is on my speed dial when I run into issues, and he is always right.

RickRack- Are you kidding me? Not only is the dude humble, but he cranks out amazing threads, one after the other.

I guess it comes down to ones definition of "telent" If constantly doing super exotics and cars most of us would never get a chance to see in real life much less touch then you have to go with some of the Eliete guys. They push themselves every detail to be better than the last. They are great with the pictures that could probably go straight to calender print. Their skills are really unmatched when dealing with these types of cars.

But Defintly put these guys on the list.

Todd (th0001)

Ryan (rydawg)

Paul Dalton (he's still on here from time to time right?)

However my personal vote goes to Scottwax. I've cruised his website many times over. Not only can he do the super cars but he has no problems taking on the basic daily drivers and fixing the $75 details LOL. But he also works with the companies to develop new products to help each and everyone of us out. He's always helpful and has no problems explaining things to anyone asking questions. He's by far the most helpful member on this site consitently. Not only can he do the job. Do it right but he can also talk to his customers and his peers with common curtisoy and respect. Which to me takes many talents to do effectivly. He pulls it off great.

There are far too many to list, but two that may get overlooked:

Accumulator for sharing years of wisdom, his meticulous car washing/maintenance techniques, and introducing BHB's to the masses ;)

Dave KG with his relentless product tests, how-to guides (rotary and DA), and gorgeous pictures of Scotland.

And I gotta add a third one......DavidB. He has put together some pretty comprehensive detailing guides, brought numerous products to market, and has given us this forum

"Who are the most talented detailers on here?"

Sorry I read the post and forgot the thread title....

Don't judge the skill level of the individual based on the level of their write ups or quality of the pictures they take, because you are judging their write-up and picture ability....

Don't judge the skill level because they pull off the wheels, because the intangeable is that they are paid to do this...

My point being is that detailing is such a BROAD SPECTRUM....

As far being able to take my time and turn about perfect results, I woud like to think I have THOSE skills sets pretty well...

As far as being able to turn out quality work in a short time, many others are much better then myself and others...

In the end it is about how the detailer represents himself and if he makes his client's happy, and truthfully, that is the true talent.

Well said, Todd.

Frankly, if you can't see, feel, and touch someone's work, then we really should not judge.

And at the end of the day, is it about prolific posting, or money in the bank?

Jim
