Most durable one-step OTC wax/sealant?

I haven't followed OTC waxes/sealants in a while (besides seeing the snazzy packaging/advertising from products like Turtle Wax Ice and Meguiar's NXT). Is there one right now that's considered the most durable? Or one that has the best balance of durability, shine, and price?

I can't get Collinite OTC, so I'm not sure it qualifies. 845 is a great product if you can get it OTC. 476s is also quite nice.

Of the available everywhere products, NXT 2.0 is the best I've used.

A bit harder to find, but still OTC and good is Duragloss 105.

collinite isnt available otc around here, not even at my local harbor freight even though ive heard many people say they have it at theirs. Techwax is a really nice otc, but not for winter because the durability isnt there.. id suggest 3m performance finish.. thats probably the most durable otc ive found... mothers fx syn wax is nice and durable too, plus if you go with the syn wax you get to use their awesome fx spray wax if youd like :-)

I used to have great success with Zymol Wax. The stuff smells amazing too. Reminds me of Florida. I stoped using it because it is lightly abrasive, and you don't always want something abrasive, especially when waxing by hand. It also has filing properties. I do however remember the protection being 10X better then Meguiars OTC or NUFinish.

Whn you ask such a question, the posters should list what they have used more than once to decide the best.

I have been using Mothers Pure Carnuba Wax for about a year now. Seems to bead pretty good even after a month and some goes by. Can find it just about everywhere. I've been using the liquid instead of the paste, so I can't speak for that. But easy on and easy off with the liquid.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm basically looking for a one-step product to recommend to my brother-in-law that he can purchase locally and is easy to use.

Harborfreight has discontinued carrying Collinite 845 and there are no Carquests in his area. It looks like NXT 2.0 may be the one to go with given its wide availability. Is the liquid version just as good as the paste?

I never got much durability out of NXT. A few weeks of shine, at most. I had good luck with Nu-Finish longevity. Might want to try Turtle Wax Super Hard Shell, it's supposed to be very durable, but not very pretty.

I've used both and prefer the liquid and haven't found any tangible difference between the two. I find I get about 8 weeks out of an application on my DD, which is about the same as I get out of 476s and a lot more than a bunch of boutique sealants/waxes I've tried.

However, on my IS350 I which is garaged parked and rarely sees the elements, I can get 10-14 weeks.

OTC products that are good are - Meguiars cleaner wax , Color X, NXT 2 , Mothers cleaner wax , FX , Turtle Wax Platinum, Wal Mart has these products.

Ive been thoroughly impressed with 476s. The look and feel is nothing to talk about but its still beading after almost 2 months which is not something I got with NXTv2. The look and feel of NXTv2 was amazing for about a month though.

Does DG105 last as long as 476s? Does it look any better?

I cant answer for 476. DG 105 has excellent durability . I have even tested it through the harsh car wash detergents. I like it and love the look of DG products. Its all what you like for a look. Depends where you are at if it's an OTC product. Depends where you look almost everything can be an OTC product.
