MOPAR Satin Select Interior Protectant

From a Dodge Ram TSB:

"....All Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep vehicles are designed with a low gloss interior trim. This low gloss finish maintains pleasing aesthetics, as well as to minimize glare of the instrument panel into the windshield. This low gloss finish should not be altered with a medium or high gloss interior treatment solution such as MOPAR Protector’s or other Armor All-like products.

Instead, MOPAR Satin Select, p/n 05174395AA, which has been specifically developed to remove minor surface contamination and maintain the low gloss appearance should be used for interior trim treatment.

To use MOPAR Satin Select low gloss finish to treat interior trim, shake the bottle prior to application. Spray on a clean, lint free towel or microfiber towel, and wipe while surface is cool. MOPAR Satin Select is safe for use on plastic, vinyl and leather and provides UV protection...."

This stuff actually works as it says that it would. I applied the Satin Sheen to the grey dash of my Ram 1500 with a micofiber covered foam pad. It went on evenly. I did not wipe off any "excess" as there was none. When the dash dried it left an very nice even flat matte finish. I found it hard to believe that a OEM accessory product actually worked this well. It costs no more than similar products available at auto parts stores.

I wonder what company makes this product for MOPAR?

I was told it was meguiars when it first came out a year or 2 ago (maybe even longer), I can check again. I work at a Chrysler, Jeep Dodge dealership as a technician. I will try to remember to ask the parts guys about the satin select

A lot of MOPAR/Daimler-Chrysler stuff is made by AutoInt, has been since forever (I once worked at a Chrysler dealership *way* back in the day). I got some MOPAR-label rustproofing stuff from Ron K. earlier this year when D-C had them relabel it (cheaper to give it to me than to recycle it, I suspect). MOPAR/D-C doesn't exactly advertise the fact that (at least some of) their stuff is made by AutoInt, but it's the same ValueGuard brand stuff other than the label.

Doesn't DuraGloss also make a bunch of Ford stuff, could have sworn and old bottle of some Ford Leather conditioners said "Brothers Research" on it. I'm pretty sure DG makes the special cleaner/conditioner for the real saddle leather on the King Ranch truck though if I recall...you can't just use any other product on that leather really as you'll end up with staining from what owners were saying. Our Jag dealer sells some "Alpine Hide Food" or something like that, that is really just relabled Connolly Food Hide.
