Monogram removal...

Clean Dean

Keep it clean !!!
Today I had to de-personalize a 1991 Mercedes Benz 560 SEC. The hand painted initials on the doors above the pinstripe had to be removed, and this was the most quickest and effective way I could do it without damaging the pinstripe underneath...

1. Wet sand the intials with 1200 grit sand paper
2. Buff with Hi Temp Heavy Cut Leveler and Edge Yellew foam pad (carefully avoid stripe).

Next...

3. Buff with DACP and Green Edge Pad.
4. Final buff with SFP and Blue pad, and the initials are long gone...

Total time... about 10 minutes for both doors...

Very nice work. Takes a certain level of confidence to tackle that sort of challenge.

Newbies should consider use of masking tape, both above and below the monograms. Obviously, in the right hands, this method was just perfect.

Great job!
