Trying to catch up, been really busy this week, still have a bunch of pictures I haven't even gone through yet. But I'd rather be working than posting pics!

2004 Mercedes ML350. Sort of regular customer, seems to have something for me every 6-12 months, whenever the mood hits I guess. This is the 4th time over the years we've detailed this ML. No little kids to mess it up so it stays pretty clean.

2001 Audi S4. Owner was just looking for a basic detail and some paint protection. Silver paint so it really doesn't show much anyway.

Sorry for the garage pics, owner's driveway was too small to move the car out with my car there and since the driveway is in back, the only place for me to move was the alley. So garage pics it is.

2008 Infiniti G37. Did a correction on it about 15 months ago, owner called me back to have it cleaned up again. All the rotary swirls I removed were still gone, but it had light to moderate spider swirls. The car is outside 24/7 and was ravaged by a rotary and then corrected by me so we decided to remove what was possible without going overboard and the owner said he will have me out more often (and avoid letting the dealer wash the car when it is serviced) so we can continue to refine the finish as it is polished more regularly. The car isn't completely swirl free but it looks significantly better, if he parked his car next to the typical black G35/G37 his car would very obviously look better. :)

2013 Scion FR-S, Raven Black. It was in better shape than the other two FR-S I have done but not as good as the BRZ. Just some light swirls and scuffing along the sides (likely from whatever scrubs the wheels through the machine that washes the cars at the dealer-the scuffing was all tire height) that wasn't too hard to remove.

2012 Porsche Cayenne Turbo S. Same owner as the 991 Carrera and 458 Italia I recently posted. This one was in pretty good shape like his other cars, he travels a lot, has 4 vehicles so none of them have even 1000 miles I believe.

By the time we finished, half the driveway was in the sun, half in the shade and a truck was in the front driveway delivering furniture so there wasn't anywhere to move it for better lighting.

2012 Mercedes C250. Detailed it about 2 months ago, soon after, a box on the freeway was kicked up and hit the front end of the car, scuffing the bumper and hood. Went out, buffed out the hood (#105, #205 and Ultrafina) and waxed with HD Poxy like I had used on the previous detail. For some reason, Poxy kept hazing up even after a few washes but only on the hood. I've used it with Ultrafina in the past with no issues so no idea what happened. Even after I washed it, the hazing came right back. :hairpull

The owner asked me to go over the hood again and as much as he likes how Poxy looks on his car, we decided to go with a different LSP until I can figure out what went wrong (so if anyone has any ideas, I am all ears). Maybe next time I'll use HD Polish instead, see if that works. With the distance between us though, just better to go with something else for now.

2011 Nissan GTR. Owner wanted it cleaned up for a car show, main complaint was lack of depth. It really needs a full on correction, but that's on hold until he finishes round two of engine mods (right now it is putting 560 hp to the wheels, the goal is 1000!). No sense correcting it now only to have it in a shop having a lot of work done to it. And at least this round put a huge dent in the swirls and the owner was thrilled with the improvement in depth to the finish.

We pull the car out for pictures, 30 seconds later we here the crack of thunder and it started to rain light (ran into some pretty nasty downburst winds from storms on the way home) on a day with a 0% chance of rain. I'll take more pics when I go back to correct it, probably towards the end of this year or early next. No time to dial in the camera settings either. Oh well, at least we avoided 114/121 and cut through DFW on the way home. Good thing too, the wind was so strong a semi truck was blown over and landed on a car that was next to it.

Liked them all. You have a very diverse client base from daily drivers to high end exotics, how do you market yourself to such a variety of people? It's very impressive and I'm wondering if you get most of your business from word of mouth referrals, website hits, or some other form of advertising. Good job on the details and i'm curious to see if anyone else has had problems with hazy poxy too, so weird that it was just the hood. Only thing I could think of was heat from a hot engine was having an effect.

Most of my new business is from internet forums, the rest from customer referrals. I've been on offtopic.com for 12 years now, it started as the off topic forum on honda-acura.net but since most posts were in the off topic forum and not the rest of the forum, the admin decided to dump the forum. The guy modding it made it into its own site which has now become one of the largest (top 10) message boards on the internet. Most of the members are still car guys at their core and post on a lot of other car boards. Since I've been moderating the detailing forum there since 2001, they all know what I do so when someone on a car board they are on asks about detailing in Dallas, they recommend me. I was lucky to get into a forum like that early on and become well established there, its really helped me out of the years.

Wish I could figure out what went wrong with Poxy on that hood, maybe it separated more from the heat than I thought and didn't shake it enough for it to mix back properly? I have an new bottle, maybe I'll pull the open one out and see how the new bottle works. Really like it, easy on, easy off, slick carnauba look.
