Mixing Car Wash Soap & Liquid Wax?

Dear All,

While perusing the Griot's catalog I saw a "Griot's Tip" which stated that mixing thier car wash soap & Best of Show wax results in a mixture that will add wax to the car as you wax....kinda like a quick wax would.

Is this true? I would think that the wax would wash away with the rinse water. Can Megs Gold Class soap be mixed with #26 liquid wax?

Anyone ever try this?

Thanks,

George

ya know, I do this with AS Liquid Wax and Platinum Wash, but I don't really know if it does anything. I prefer to use a carnuaba wash instead...

Good Question.

I have tried this a few time as well. I know the paint does not look any shinier after washing w/wax, but mabey it does add some new protection.

I used to add Meguiars Qucik Detailer in with my car soap and wash the car. The water just ran off so easy without me hardly drying it and it shined really nice.

I tried this with some Mother's Pure Wax and their car wash. I noticed it made the windows really hard to clean and my wash mits had to be wahsed several times to get the wax out of them. Maybe I added to much wax to the wash but I think I'll stick to using a QD after washing now.

I think it's a way for Griots to sell more wax. It makes about as much sense as their recommendation on using the pc with the foam pad that has the clay bar in it......go figure!
