Mix Zaino instead of two layers?

For those of you that are using the standard Zaino with Z1 and them topping it with Z2 pro per their directions below I have a question. Instead of doing two layers why not just mix the z1 and z2 together and apply one layer of the products mixed. I mean if you are rubbing wet sealer over wet sealer arent they just mixing together on the surface anyway?

The same question could apply for all products that claim an advantage to applying one on top of another. Am I the only one to wonder about this or has it been discussed before?

I tried it on half of the hood of my BMW 325 and frankly I could not tell any difference between it and the half that I did correctly.

5. Start with either Z-1 Polish Lok as per directions OR the preferred New ZFX accelerator additive. If you are using Z-1 it does not need to dry. Remember do not wipe off the Z-1 Polish Lok. Apply Z-5 or Z-2 PRO directly over the Z-1. Z-5 is the Hot ticket for a swirl free, flawless paint finish. Usually one to three coats will accomplish that.

I emailed Sal at Zaino and he said not to do this it would not work. He invited me to call for a long discussion but I dont think I am up for it. Ill just take his word as I am not likely to understand the reasons anyway.

I still cant tell a difference anyway but I will keep watching it to see

Z1 is a bonding and mild cleansing agent that needs to be applied thinning over the entire surface. Z1 does not need to actually haze but allowing such will slightly decrease the drying time of the subsequently applied Z2PRO or Z5 - Z1 combo. Mixing Z1 with Z2PRO/Z5 will not accomplished this task of uniform application.

To skip the Z1 step one should use ZFX in its place for "maximal" performance of the Zaino polish initial application :wavey .

I seem to recall last year when i called sal, I brought this up and he said i will be fine to mix both an i did. Car came out looking good and i still do this till today.

So can you apply Z5 with ZFX to hide swirls etc then top it off with Z2-Pro ?? will this give you better results than just using Z5 ??
