Minimum curing time for SG?

Ok I know that the optimal time to let SG cure on your car is 24 hours, and I have even seen a few say they used 12 hours with no problem, but has anyone gotten away using less time than that? I just applied my fourth coat of sealant(SG/UPP/UPP/SG), and was really wanting to get the wax topper on today and be done with the process. If I do add the wax today, I would be looking at letting the coat of SG I have on it now only cure for 6 hours. Does anyone see a serious problem with this? And what would the problem be, the benefits of the fourth coat not being as good?

Also, would there be any benefit(as far as giving a wetter appearance) to top the SG with #26, and THEN S100? I normally use just S100, but I was thinking if adding #26 before the S100 would improve the wetness, why not?

Anyone have experience in either of these areas?

BTW to the moderators, when you do move a post, can you at least tell the author where you moved it to? I left this in the 'Detailing Product Discussion' forum because I was sure that's where it went. When I came back to see if anyone had replied, it was gone, and I had no idea where it was.

Thanks.

(For once, I wasn't the one who moved the thread but ...)

The Autopia House Rules (available at the upper-left of the homepage) ask all newcomers to post their questions in AU 'til they get up to 30 posts. And even our long-time members will still post their "beginner-type" questions in AU. I'm sure that's why it got moved.

We generally try to tell folks when we move a thread. But, in reality, sometimes I have so many to move that I can just get tired writing those notices -- especially since I've learned that lots of members don't read their PMs for days or weeks. Also, a few members have blocked receipt of PMs, so there's no way for us to notify them. (I'm not saying any of that's the case for you, BamaGSR -- just trying to let everybody know that's some of the issues that may be involved.)

When one of my posts gets moved and I'm not sure where it is, I just go to the search page and enter a keyword and my screenname to find it.

All the Mods try to be helpful, but sometimes "stuff just happens." But ... sorry this move caused you any problem.

Ah ok I didn't know about the '30-post' rule. That's what confused me cause I had a question moved to 'Detailing Product Discussion' last week, so I assumed that that's where this one needed to go, then when I put it there, it was moved HERE.

I thought you guys were just out to get me ;) Thanks for the clarification, I'll just post here till I get up to 30 if I have any new questions.

Well my posting has been thin lately, but unless there has been new info put out by Klasse the 24/12 hour cure times are techniques. When I experimented with Klasse I worked with 3 to 4 hours btwn coats. Go ahead with the your S100, looks like you posted this morning, probably not a factor now.

Never went 26 to S100, always worked Blitz or Souv. In the end I skipped the topper because I always wanted the option to add more SG. Try them both and see what you think (26 and S100).
