Mini Cooper S - Detailed - Crashed

Hello all. This is a picture of my friend's Silver Mini Cooper S after it was claybarred and NXT'd. Looking beautiful.

Unfortunately i have bad news. Just recently yesterday he lost control in the backroad cause of a huge dip in the road traveling at 65mph (speed limit 55). He panicked but by then it was too late, he hit the railings on the right and the car shot back to the left slamming the front left and flipped it 180 hitting the rear left 1/4 panel on another railing.

The mini cooper was equipped with 17" Volk GT-C's, H-Sport Springs, Front and rear Strut bars. She was only Six months old. He saved up for Two years to buy the car. The only fortunate thing is that my friend didn't die but left with bruises and seatbelt gashes.

Sorry to hear about the accident. Hopefully he will get a lot of his money back from insurance as it was a fairly new car.
 
I'd just like to point out...this is one tough car! I'm very impressed by all the accident photos I've seen, including rollovers.



This bites for your friend, but I'm glad he's OK. Time to order a new one and move on. Get a different color, it will help get over the memories. Something bright, that makes it safer too with all the wheel-holders out there.

That's terrible, and was such a nice car too. But it looks like the wheels are still salvagable, and so is the interior and some of the motor. So atleast he'll have alot of spare parts for his next Mini, right ;)
 
I second BoxsterCharlie, that little car took the hits it received well. Glad your friend just has bruising to show for the incident.
 
That's a real bummer. Good to hear the driver escaped with minimal injuries. The Mini sure does instill confidence in the twisties. Maybe too much. Knock on alloy patina, hope mine doesn't end meet the same fate.

That really *is* a bummer. I'm sorry to hear that. Looks like Mini sacrificed its life for the occupants...

I love Mini's. Very sad to see that, especially one with the time put in. Give your friend my best.



What are his plans? Getting a new one? Parting this one out?
 
the insurance is gonna cover it by KBB value. so he practically is getting all his money back.



so far his plans is to buy the future mini cooper around 2007 which has various changes here and there and rumored to be 1.8 Turbo.



for the moment i believe he is just going to buy a dc2 integra with a jdm conversion and a bunch of JDM mods.



so yeah very unfortunate on what happened, but me and him come to think it might had happend for a reason.
 
What a shame. I've had the opportunity to detail one that color. It turned out great. I notice the before pics have different wheels/tires. Did he save the original ones?
