Mini Cooper S Detail (several pics)

Last weekend I tackled a neglected Mini. Well over 12 hours was spent over the course of two days. You could have grown plants in the door jambs...especially the back. I was told that it had been washed twice in the last 3 years.

Outside: Lots of Zaino clay and clay magic. PB wash, BnB, SnR, SSR 2.5, PP, TR. Never Dull. DP Prem. Surface Shield and DP Spray Surface Shield.

Inside: Detailers Pride carpet/upholstery cleaner and leather cleaner, Zaino leather conditioner, PB APC 4:1, 303 cleaner 30:1, Adam's VRT, Plexus.

Although I had used the new DP sealant before, I thought I would try out the new DP spray sealant. I can't say that I mastered the application of the spray yet. It was a little tricky to apply and wipe off w/o streaking. I will try a finer spray bottle next time. I applied the liquid version of DP on the white top. This way I could compare the durability and also it was easier to see where I had applied it (I hate applying LSPs to white when I can't see the product!).

The wheels where tough. I seriously considered taking them off. I have to say that this blue is just about my favorite color. Only wish the pics had turned out better.

Wow!! You did an amazing job with that Mini. I detailed a Mini last year and the owner of the Mini said she had washed it once since she had bought it. :(

Wow!! that interior is brand new. I bet the owner was impressed.

Excellent transformation, although it still amazes me that people let their cars get in that state in the first place...

How did you find polishing etc after washing? I find that Mini's hold water just about everywhere and whenever I have to do one spend about 15 minutes with a compressor getting it out of all the cracks and crevices.

I had heard that the Mini would hold water for a long time. To avoid this issue I washed and dried on Saturday and applied polish, etc on Sunday. I still found a few drops of water!

Outstanding job. I just don't understand how someone lets their car get in that condition. But, then again, we wouldn't be challenged to create perfection.

Amazing work! I do hope they take care of the NSX better that their Cooper.

The NSX is very pampered. It is mine.

I had the mini dropped off at my house.
