Mildly modded 350Z detail *56K eh**

Yesterday I had the opportunity to detail a very nice 350Z. The car has been mildly modded with Nismo accessories. The paint was a beautiful pearl white, but needed a liitle help.



I started with the motor:

NXT soap

EZ detail brush

Old mitt

Costco APC 10:1

Rinse with PW

Dress with meguiars #40 cut 50/50 with water

Exterior marring was moderate.

Looks fantastic !!! How was cleaning the plenum??? Did you just use the APC and the brush on that???

I have cleaned surfaces like this before and have found that two things REALLy help. One is a low dilution (10:1 here) of whatever cleaner you are using and two, never allow the cleaner to dry on the surface. I also avoided dressing that area as I know that once the motor was at normal operating temperature it would have streaked and looked "mottled." If I owned the car I would attemp to purchase one that was perhaps coated or polished....Do they make those? :nixweiss



Oh yeah, I guess I could answer the question. :o :D I used the APC first and then washed with NXT soap. I just used a mitt on the larger areas and the EZ detail brush to reach under the upper strut bar.

I just sprayed the APC into the door jamb, wiped with a MF covered sponge, and rinsed VERY carefully. I then wiped them down while drying and applied AIO then #16 by hand.
 
sweet ride, thats a hot white. i dont know about anyone else but im not really feeling the wheels too much, might look better on a darker car, but not on the pearl white imo. oh yeah, i was at the nissan dealership on my vacation in houston picking up my sister in laws murano and was checking out the 350's. well like 4 out of the 5 i checked out had horrible orange peel, cobwebbing, and swirl marks like crazy. the place was well lit, which didn't help matters. damn dealership detailing, its the devil.
 
Absolutely amazing!...as usual.





I love the door jams and undercar(exhaust) shots...It truly shows how in depth you go.
