Yes, he, um...er..."resigned" on March 9 to go "home" to SCG.

whos mike phillips

He's the face of Meguiar's OnLine here in the US.

I'm sorry, but I can't take Mike seriously anymore. He resurrected SCG (his site/forum that he had before he went to work for Meg's) a year or two ago, and it was pretty clear he had some plans beyond Meg's. Then last August he abrubtly "resigned" from SCG (apparently corporate got wind of what was going on--that's my take, anyway) to give his full attention once again to Meguiar's. Last Friday there was a lot of fanfare about his resignation from Meguiar's, and how he was back at SCG and would be doing detailing classes from the SCG as well as around the country (world?), and today he's back at Meguiar's.

I have no problem with Mike changing his mind, perhaps accepting an offer he couldn't refuse, etc., but if you're going to leave yourself open to such offers, don't announce to the world on the internet you're doing something else until you make up your mind. I feel sorry for his SCG partner, who really looks like a donkey now, not to mention his financial exposure.

Richard (Mike's partner) has been running SCG for along time on his own. If anything, I think Rich will make it better with his new inventions hes coming up with.

Yeah, he's been running the forum, the shop and the supply business are newer developments, and I'd be willing to bet he only took those steps due to his upcoming "celebrity" partner (not that Richard hasn't become somewhat of a celebrity himself now).

Oh ok, i saw his videos for SCG.

Perhaps you missed it, according to his post, Mike Phillips is keeping the SCG name/domain...so Richard will have to rename his "new" site.

For those of you who don't know, Richard is OctaneGuy here on Autopia and elsewhere, and I personally think we should take up a collection and buy him a case of Prilosec before he gets an ulcer....he seems like a decent guy who doesn't deserve to be jerked around like this.

Mike, I ask that you ease off Mike. You don't know the story and it isn't my place to share it. Let's just say that many times in life things aren't what they seem and leave it at that.

and please explain why Richard looks like a donkey. i'd wish you wouldn't comment or use those words towards people you don't know.

it didn't work it didn't work.

mike's back at MOL. and Richard will be at this shop.

I'm sorry if I offended you; I feel sorry for Richard, as I said in another post above. Out of respect for SpoiledMan, I decline to further comment or continue in this thread.

PS Donkey is a euphemism for another word that would have been bleeped.

I really like both Mike and Richard. I have learned more from them then I would have other wise been able to without them. I hope everything works out for both of them. Guess we all just need to stay tuned and see what happens next. ;)

I feel like I am seeing a real life soap opera. :nixweiss

I like Mike Phillips, he is a really great guy. Whatever is going on, I hope he gets settled soon. :)

but he's never been back here !!!
