Metro Vac N’ Blow Horror Story

I love this tool and I use it all the time and never had any issues with it until today. I was using the air blower side to dry my car with the Blower Nozzle attached, when all of a sudden, out flies the nozzle with the force of a projectile and hits the car.:nervous2:. I quickly inspected the car, but did not find a dent or scratch, though it happened at night, so it is hard to see. It must (I hope) have hit the wheel; otherwise, if it would have hit the paint with the force with which it shot out it would have definitely caused a dent and/or scratch. The impact was so hard that a piece on the tip of the nozzle actually broke. I will inspect my car again tomorrow during daylight. So my advise, when you use this thing, hold it tight by the nozzle to secure it. I always make sure it is securely attached, yet somehow it came loose. Below is a pic of the attachment I am talking about.

Wow..im sorry that happened to you buddy. I actually have always worried about this..that is why i have never started doing it...at least the damage is minimal if any..or you wouldve been able to see it/feel it...chalk it up to experience and im glad it wasnt any worse!

the dedicated blowers that metro makes to dry bikes, animals and cars comes with a soft nozzle. not sure if it fits the vac n blo (i can check later for you). hope there is no damage. they also push more air to dry faster.

Is it a good idea to use a vacuum/blower combo vac for drying? I know a lot of them use the same hose or tube that you use for vacuuming in the dryer end. I have always been concerned that dust in the tube from vacuuming would get on the paint when you used the blower for drying the car.

It happen to me last time i use it (with customer car 911 Carera2)! Now i tape it or more carefull when i use it!! Scary!

Vacs are dangerous. Especially swinging the cords around, or even moving the hose around without touching the car.

That happened to me one time also, but since i have a dedicated blower hose, i just used some electrical tape to secure the nozzle to the hose.

You don't use the same hose you vacuumed with on the blower side do you?
