Metabo High Speed Rotary...

I just saw a Metabo high speed rotary on the internet, and wondered if anyone had used it and if they liked it.



Seeing as it only weighs 4.5 pounds, it might be just what I need.



I can get the entire kit for $295. Does this sound good?



Any suggestions?

I think with a rotary you want slower speeds. The DeWalt DW-849 is what I have and it seems to be the most popular rotary at Autopia.



Major heavy duty and it has adjustable speeds from 1,000 to 3,000 rpm.

The price of the DeWalt is also much lower than the one you mentioned. I bought mine for $159.

I don't think that I can handle a heavy buffer. That is why I checked out the Metabo.

You will get used to the weight or you will get a good workout. The DeWalt can be purchased for $149 right now.

I saw that ad at Harbor Freight.



Does that come with a backing plate & pads?



If not, where can I get pads to fit it?

I have a Metabo rotary, it's very light and you can set the speed from 750 to 2200RPM.



The only negative point is that's it's trigger doesn't sets the speed, while de Dewalt and Makitta's do.



If you want a small and light German made rotary go for it. It costs the same on this side of the ocean.
