Every now and then I run into a car that has been severely abused by lesser experienced lower quality "detailers", This Beautiful Mercedes SL63 AMG is one of them. This new Client called me down to Nashville TN to help rescue this car that had been "hand waxed" be another local "detailer".
Unfortunately the guy decided to "hand wax" is will all 4 fingers spread apart, after he used a rotary buffer to install come custom holograms and swirls.

This car needed some Tru Shine love and that's exactly what I was there to do.

Lets begin....Here is the car when I arrived.

Notice all of the finger print type spots, all over the hood.

Those are from the "Hand Polish" job leaving marks from the pressure of each finger tip.

First I start with the wheels. This will prevent water spots on the paint by washing the paint last.

Next is the wash and Prep

First I pre rinse the car knocking off any heavy or loose debris

Then give the car a full thorough foam bath

Zero waxes and oils left on the surface

After bringing the car inside and putting it under the halogen lights to examine the surface, this is what was found!

The next morning I came back to finish the job,

After the paint was polished out via Griot's 6in LC Tang pad and Scholls S30+ polish.

For my final protectant I used Optimum Opti-Guard. OptiGuard is a Permanent coating that is rated to last 8-10 years as it is a non porous clear coat that does not fade or oxidize and will never have to be waxed or sealed. it prevents bird poop etching, acid rain etching, bug damage ect, this coating is an extremely hard coating and can not be washed off. this is why it is rated at such long durability.

Amazing work!

What is this? It's some kind of new hybrid marking... Fingerprints, waterspots an swirls combine to make some sort of monster.

Wow fantastic work! But that is not the best part. The best part is that I was just wondering about where you have been. Long time not see. Hope you have been well. Are you enjoying your NSX?

Quick question....What were you using As an OG applicator?

Good to see you posting here again.

haha, business got a little crazy, it's been better then ever. its hard to find time and sit down and spend 8 hours uploading pics and narrate a long write up. its easier to keep up with me on facebook. lots of updates happen on there. :D look me up. Eric Tru Shine Witt or Tru Shine automotive detailing specialist.

The NSX is doing great. lots of stuff has been getting done to it lately. here is the most recent pic.

just got the Kei Office front lower valance painted and installed. :D coilovers are next.

for optiguard. at this time i was using a piece of grout sponge cut in small thin pieces. but now I just use the yellow applicator that comes with it, just he applicator by itself.

Wow great pictures, and documentation. You made that finish turn around like no other. I really like how it's simple and to the point, not to many pictures or pointless pictures. Great job Eric!

wow great job on the benz! is that charlie brown hood stripes? these cars are nice but i cant stand when these car companies have silver or grey fender vents that dont go with the car like...why isnt it black? but your just the detailer & the car looks beautifull now!
